Desiraction (de-sea-raction) - A new queer spectrum term that denotes someone's DESIRE for a specific attraction type to be directed towards them. While it an orientation label, this is different from an attraction label - as it is about one's desire for the attraction from others, not an attraction towards others. Someone experiencing desiraction may desire confessions of attraction, actions associated with types of attraction, and being the subject of others' attraction types.
Many people using "-favorable" labels may find use in desiraction terms.
desiraction could be considered the inverse of attraction.
The flag is an inverted & color adjusted tertiary attraction flag with its own symbol!
Read below for examples and more.
For example: Adrian experiences romantic desiraction. He wishes for others to be romantically attracted to him, to express romantic feelings toward him, and to do romantic things to him. He is also aromantic, which means he's not attracted romantically to other people.
Example Two: Morgan experiences aesthetic desiraction. They want others to be aesthetically attracted to them, and they feel fulfillment from others expressing aesthetic attraction to them. They often perform at fashion shows to achieve this feeling.
Example Three: Ori experiences studial desiraction. She wants to be the subject of someone's studying and experiments, to be analyzed and maybe even tested on by someone. She also experiences romantic attraction, and she feels romantic toward the one(s) studying her.
Example Four: Shilo experiences familial desiraction. He wants to be seen as family by others, and wants others to treat him like family. However, he is also afamilial, so he doesn't feel the same familial pull towards others.
Desiraction labels: -desir (de-sear)
the suffix for desiraction is -desir. This can be combined with any attraction label.
Some microlabels:
- sexualdesir: an orientation label where one feels sexual desiration; to desire others to be sexually attracted to oneself
- romantidesir: an orientation label where one feels romantic desiration; to desire others to be romantically attracted to oneself
- platonidesir: an orientation label where one feels platonic desiration; to desire others to be platonically attracted to oneself
- familialdesir/familiadesir: an orientation label where one feels familial desiration; to desire others to be familialy attracted to oneself
- aesthetidesir: an orientation label where one feels aesthetic desiration; to desire others to be aesthetically attracted to oneself
- studialdesir/studydesir: an orientation label where one feels studial desiration; to desire others to be studially attracted to oneself
- adesir/adesiraction: an orientation label to denote an absence of desiraction; to not desire a kind of attraction directed toward oneself. Adesir people may be more inclined toward neutral or repulsed labels as well. (aromanticdesir, aplatonicdesir, asexualdesir, anaestheticdesir, etc)
- any attraction label can be turned into a desiraction label with this format!
More flag variants and the transparent symbol is below! Ideally you can put other flags in the middle to combine it with various attraction labels.
