It's been a while now huh
First off, thank you everyone for joining the Puyo Puyo livestream earlier and also thank you for 2+ MILLION VIEWS on Puyo Puyo Tetris Animated! It's wild to see how strong the puyo community is today and how many people are still into my puyo stuff... Sometimes I see memes being made out of my puyo animation even today.
I'm very grateful and thankful for your support over the years. Since the last post after the completion of PPT Animated, people have been waiting for the fruition of 'Puyo Puyo Animated Series' from me. It's been a while now, so I’d like to give an update on what’s been going on with this project…
Long story short - Some time ago, a studio came to me after learning that I have the pitch bible ready, with the proposition of developing Puyo Puyo into a full-fledged animated series, with SEGA officially involved. But in the end... they decided to go with different direction, so it wasn't pursued at this moment in time. The pilot script is all ready. The pitch bible with 10+ episodes contents is all ready. But ultimately, it all boils down to SEGA if they really want to proceed with this.
So, what does this mean for the future of this Puyo animated project? Well, I can always pitch to SEGA again sometime in the future if their interest lineup. OR the best I could do right now is really just share the finished cleaned animatic with full voice acting (not with their official VAs unfortunately since it would be illegal to do so) online one day. Making full animation for a pilot is EXTREMELY expensive. Even after all those years of saving up the earnings from Patreon and Ko-Fi... it's unfortunately not enough to make this happen, especially since I'd love to achieve the best quality as possible.
Crowdfunding is always an option too but that still takes A LOT of time and work. I have to be realistic while taking care of my mental health in the long run, especially after experiencing months of heavy burnout from completing PPT Animated. And because I do not legally own any of these SEGA characters, it would have been a huge risk for me and my creative future overall should I pursue further with the full animated pilot.
Thus, as of right now, all the budgets which have been saved up in my Patreon and Ko-Fi have been officially put to use on my studio original projects - Ztray and One Drop. A big THANK YOU to everyone for all those years of support and allowing me to make this happen! As some of you already know, I have officially opened my own indie studio - Studio Phuico, where I manage, direct, write, animate, design and more alongside with my crew members on these said projects. I know I did a hard switch, but that's because I also have other stories I really want to tell from these characters of mine who have been living inside my mind for so many years.
Don't get me wrong - Puyo Puyo still has a special place in my heart even if I don't draw them much anymore. If anything, this whole thing has been a very good experience learning practice, especially since it's literally where I learned how to write story and been getting better at it ever since, so I don’t regret the project at all. Hopefully in the future when the time is right, I can revisit this puyo animated project once more...
And to show my appreciation and give back to the puyo community, I'm officially OPEN to taking commission of any puyo characters! That's right. It will no longer be restricted to Amitie, Sig, Klug and Raffina as I'm well aware that there's still people out there who like to see me drawing the other characters (however please DO NOT see my take on the characters as canon for the Puyo Animated Series). All commission earnings will go directly towards paying my crew member working on my studio projects!
If you have any questions (I won’t answer anything regarding to spoilers, plans, the pitch bible content or the pitch experience regarding Puyo Puyo Animated Series), my inbox is always open. Thank you for reading and understanding.

We have been cooking up and updating many progresses over Patreon and Ko-Fi too if you're feeling generous!
★ P.S. There’s some behind the scenes and extra contents which never make it in the final version of PPT Animated which you can access all of that on my Patreon! ★
