✨9/3/2022, Week 3 of Fall Semester✨
Hello, my friends! Life has been a little hectic hence my post being later than anticipated, but better late than never. I passed my 2nd unit exam and only need a 65.867% on the 3rd exam to pass this course! It has gone by extremely fast and I have done a lot better than anticipated. This has clearly been my favorite course because whether or not you become a mental health nurse, you will have to use this knowledge for any patient you have and it will make for better client centered care to get the full picture.
Another surprise announcement that no one may have anticipated is that I’m running to be level 3’s class representative. Shocker, right? I normally never take any position that involves leadership or social involvement, but I decided that I always try to best assist my peers whenever I may provide some help and this would just be the next step to becoming more helpful to my fellow classmates by stepping into this position. I am not sure who won yet, but it will be announced next week and I will keep you all posted!
Last but not least, I have attended my mental health clinical for the semester and I found it fascinating as well as devastating. It was a little tough with topics that hit close to home as well as a patient who broke down and cried on my shoulder. I always aspire to be the person who can hear everyone’s concerns and reassure them that they are heard and it’s valid to feel that way, but to also remind them they’re in a safe place with me and that I will do my best to assist however I can. It was only a 6 hour clinical, but maybe the most I have ever learned in one sitting. I hope with this experience I will better provide for my patients holistically.
