How to memorize lines
Whether you’re in theater or anything else that requires acting, you know that memorizing your lines is fundamental to a good performance. After all, how can you focus on playing your character if you’re worrying about what your next line is? I’ve taken theater for 4 years now and I have some solid tips that can help.
Highlight your lines. Pick one color for your words and another for your actions . You should do this as soon as you get your script.
Enter your lines into the Script Rehearser app. If your script is in PDF format you can simply upload the file. If not you will need to physically type in your lines. I personally only enter my cues and lines instead of entire scenes to save time. You can then set your character and play through the script which will automatically pause at each of your lines. This is great for running lines by yourself and I credit it as the number one reason I am always the first to have memorized their lines (which also gets me better roles)
Write out any monologues. Write each one until you no longer need to look at the script. For me this is usually 3 times. After each time, speak the monologue out loud for maximum retention.
Practice your lines out loud. It won't matter if your lines are memorized if you get on stage and speak so quiet no one can hear you.* Run your lines with a friend. Ask for feedback on voice, tone, andl ine deliverance as well as your overall attitude with your character. This feedback can be vital in helping you truly become your character and put on a stellar performance.
I hope these tips helped you guys and good luck on becoming your best actor! Never underestimate the importance of line memorization! Whether you perform live on a stage or film on a set, your director and fellow actors will undoubtedly appreciate the work you put in and you can focus all you energy into becoming your character. If you have any other tips feeel free to comment them!

Day 10 of the September Study Challenge: What is your least favorite subject? PRE-CALC. Even just the algebra review went really badly, so this weekend I spent a little bit looking into the topics if forgotten about. Thank you to @hxrmionestudy for making the "study like a Slytherin" image and inspiring this whole thing 🐍💚
September Study Challenge | Day 1 | Goals for the Month
Welp, honestly, the biggest one is not to lose my crap. I’ve got my school lessons, including programming, I’ll have Korean courses, I’ve gotta start my research work, and on top of that I’ve got a bunch of projects I wanna do for myself.
Asides from that, I really hope I can get myself to finally understand physics.... for the first time since 8th grade... been barely passing all tests for the last few years, might as well save myself the headache and actually try again.
@studying-chan September Study Challenge // How do you take notes?
Very, VERY messily! These are my class notes from day one of forensic psych. Of course I hadn’t read anything yet, so I don’t know what is in the book and what’s not... This is getting transferred to flashcards once I do the reading.
September Study Challenge
So I’m starting this nearly a week late. Here are the first six questions by studying-chan:
1. What are your goals for the month of September?
a) Pass my two current classes.
b) Study for the driving test.
c) Register for my next classes.
d) Start preparing for Nanowrimo, which means outlining my two novel ideas.
2. Introduce yourself/Reintroduce yourself.
Hi, I’m Briana. I’m 22 years old and studying Human Development and Family Studies. My slightly neglected tumblr is a studyblr and booklr. I have Major Depressive Disorder which does affect my studies, but I do my best. I only started classes last winter, so if you want to talk about being an online student or starting college later just message me :)
3. How many notebooks do you have for this semester?
I used $1 composition journals for previous classes, but for my current two, I set up two files in Google Drive and have kept my notes digital. I might go back to journals for my next classes (especially for trigonometry).
4. What is in your pencil case?
Pens and highlighters, mostly PaperMate and Sharpie.
5. Do you have a favorite stationary brand?
No, I don’t.
6. What gets you hyped about Fall?
Back-to-school sales, cooler weather, pumpkin pie, countdown to various holidays

Omg. I wish I could go back and take intro to Philosophy again… it was an amazing experience. Plus I am so jello of your math class. I loved Calculus but I diddnt get to finish it. So I’m taking crappy maths.
i’m actually so excited to take philosophy! i’ve always been a more quantitative-minded person, but i’ve heard some amazing things about philosophy, so i think i’ll learn a lot :) also, i was surprisingly impressed w myself when i did well in Calc I last semester, hope that Calc II goes just as well... hahaha
