So having read a couple of interviews with Anthony Rapp where he’s expressed his appreciation for DS9 (saying that Disco and DS9 ‘share DNA’, pointing out that the O’Brians had some good ‘married moments’ not so different from the toothbrush scene), I’m thinking this might have been an acting choice :)

Star Trek Discovery episode 9

Whoooooo I didn't think Admiral Cornwell was still alive! I'm SO glad to be proven wrong! She's such an interesting and strong character!

I'm really amazed at how Star Trek Discovery is showing not only actual PTSD but also the trauma of a male survivor of sexual abuse in such a dignified and well handled manner. This is amazing.

That said, let me finish my restrospection of this episode with this heart-felt plea: "PLEASE DO NOT KILL YOUR GAYS!" I'm expecting the worst with how that build-up went and I will honestly cry if it happens. They're such an amazing couple.
