So we are using Beanstack for our reading challenges and have a staff challenge and...at first I absolutely hated beanstack but now I sort of like it. It keeps telling me im doing a great job 🥺

Maybe we should be friends on beanstack if you use it? 👉👈

Do you love strong lady love soft lady? Do you love not really friends to lovers? Do you love books where everyone is smart and doesnt have stupid conflicts? Do you love polyamorous relationships that are healthy?

You should read "The Color Thief" & "The Color Plague" by Emily Poirier! The Color Thief was reviewed favorably by Kirkus in their indie section. I devoured The Color Thief and am now reading thru Plague (the 2nd book).

No stupid conflicts, every character speaks their minds and there are no misunderstandings just to cause problems for characters. Princess Helena feeling worried? Dont worry! Dresden may feel sad and like she did something wrong, but they will resolve it quickly by actually COMMUNICATING LIKE HEALTHY ADULTS.

Also reading Horrorstor by Grady Hendrix and its hilarious and super spooky. More scary than Southern Book Club. Also reading The Body In Question by Jill Ciment (so good).

If you havent already, go read The Year of the Witching by Alexis Henderson. Its great! Its like The Witch mixed with The Village and so good. Im almost done with reading it (listening to it actually).

Do you like the cold and beautifully haunting setting of Vermont?

Then you need to read Jennifer McMahon’s novels. 

I am currently reading (er...listening to) “The Winter People” by Jennifer McMahon and it is so good (I already have read “The Invited” and “The Night Sister” by her). Her books combine the supernatural as well as the human condition into something that is equally horrific and tragic, usually spanning across generations, weaving the fates of towns people and strangers together. Next I might read her book “Dismantled” but really can’t wait for her new book “The Drowning Kind” to come out.

Now that I finally have a desk and can take notes without piling everything on my couch, what should I resume reading first?

1. Three Books of Occult Philosophy by Agrippa

2. Hellenistic Astrology by Chris Brennan

3. Fuck all that and start another new book

Knowing me ill just read them all simultaneously and get overwhelmed and never touch them again.

You: Reading Agrippa’s Three Books of Occult Philosophy with an understanding of math and critical/deep thinking.

Me: Summoning Agrippa through dark means so that he can explain the word choice of “fondle” and mathematics in order to better understand his work.

We are not the same.

Reading Agrippa (reading one of the appendices) as someone who absolutely hates and doesnt get math 😖 prolly shouldve paid more attention in school......
