I ended up doing around 50 lunges (the last 20 were with weight in my hands), 35 squats, around 50 crunches, 40 side crunches, 20 heel touches, 20 dead lifts, 40 standing side crunches (with weights in my hand), 40 arm curls, 40 more arm thingies where your hands are by your side then you curl then lift the weight above your head then curl and back down (lol), 20 sitting crunches, and 40 one-legged bridges.
Believe it or not I did it over the span of about an hour and a half, taking plenty of breaks in between because I'm lazy and get out of breath easily. My muscles were feeling like jell-o afterwards but it felt amazing. And the best part? I was starving and ate a piece of delicious pizza. I'm about to go have a banana now, too, since I just got out of the shower and am still hungry. One of the best things about working out (for me, anyway) is how hungry it makes me.
Working out for me has nothing to do with losing weight, and everything to do with gaining weight and getting strong and healthy again. This is how I hope to achieve my goal weight of 115 lbs. (I'm currently around 98, having just suffered through a bad break up and losing a pregnancy. Stress kills, people.) And already I feel so much better physically, mentally, and emotionally. I just hope to get the treadmill in the basement working again so I can do cardio, as well, especially during the winter when I won't be able to go on so many hikes through the forest.
This is by no means a perfect work out routine. I was literally surfing around on Pinterest for familiar and new, interesting-looking exercises I can do at home with nothing at all, or using the 7lb weights I found in my basement and the 2 lb ankle weights I found in my dead grandmother's things. So I was just trying out a bunch of different things, seeing what felt good and what works well with my body.
In time I hope to create a few routines I can do a few times a week, at least three days a week, to stay in shape and help keep my muscles and bones strong and fluid throughout Winter (I get really bad arthritis in my knees, hips, back, hands and random pains in the rest of my bones.) I also want to find yoga routines I can do on my off days, or on days I just really need to stretch or ground myself.
I am very open to any suggestions!
