Hey, I’m sorry to have to ask this question but does anyone know if a GoFundMe or something like that can be made by someone who lives in a rural area so only has a post office box. My father and I are in real financial trouble because our car needs a new engine and we do not have the money for that. Dad had to stop working a few years back and I work on a part time grocery clerk salary. If anyone has some real advice I would be all ears. I just don’t know what to do and I feel awful even making this post when things are so much worse for so many people but I’m at the end of my rope. I’m sick and anxious and just don’t know what to do

it’s been 9 years since i wrote this. i was experiencing 24/7 anxiety so badly that i needed serious medication. these days in the back of my car is an “emergency party box.” when people admit they no longer really celebrate their birthday; i tell them to put the sash on and queue up kesha, we’re going bowling or something. these days i can’t spin around without finding something i am enamored with. these days i list 3 things i’m grateful for before i fall asleep. you’re probably one of them, just by virtue of you existing.

at the time i wrote this, i was suffering through a severe panic attack literally every night. i tortured my brother with constant 2 AM calls just to hear someone else breathing, because i couldn’t be alone in the silence.

i rarely wish i was still 23 even though ironically i had more hope back then. what i can tell you is this: i love the same way, but bigger now. i’ve worn the velvet cape to several business meetings. i spent thursday in a crop top without caring what my stomach looked like.

i told her i like her; i often dress as a witch. i still got glass in my foot this morning. i’ve kissed maybe a thousand people since then and met a million more than that; passing like the shadow of a hammerhead in trains and planes and buses.

i saw you, beloved, there, maybe, on platform in south station. you didn’t speak, but you said: i struggle to give the nothing meaning. the nothing fills up everything. it is just loud and yellowed panicked silence. i can’t stop shaking.

the thing about media literacy is that understanding why the author chose to specify that the curtains are blue is the same skill set as understanding that the way the author characterizes all black characters as angry or all chinese characters as meek and silent is racist. it is the same skill set as being able to identify when a news source is biased or when someone is feeding you propaganda. the ability to ask "why did this person choose to present this premise in this specific way?" is a critical skill in a world full of misinformation. why are the curtains blue? maybe it's a characterization detail. maybe it's extraneous worldbuilding. why is this character written as being right all the time? maybe you're intended to disagree with them. maybe it doesn't matter. maybe you should still ask why.

I am once again begging people to realize that AI checker doesn’t work. it’s never worked. it’s notoriously known to have flagged human-made works as AI and AI-generated works as human-made. and by feeding it people’s works, you are feeding more works to AI, because apparently the machine itself is AI.

ID: a reddit post in the subreddit "mtf" by user @.apotatomassacre. "My 84 year old Navajo grandmother gave me one of her bracelets (that my silversmith grandfather made for her in the 50s) after seeing me as myself for the first time. It was one of the pinnacle moments of my transition and definitely made me cry.

i came out to my grandma at the beginning of the year over the phone. She really didn't (and I knew) know what transgender was or anything but this past weekend, we were able to see each other in person for the first time since i started my transition. For being 84 years old, the chat went as great as it could have gone! She caught me as I was leaving and she gave me a silver bracelet with turquoise and coral stones. She told me that this style is what Navajo women wear.

Let's do this one last time... as everyone knows, my financial circumstances right now are less than stellar. I'm dealing with consistent food insecurity/trying to come up with bills. Worse, I can't find any work, so I'm taking to doing side gigs. Preferably, I’d like to do fandoms I’m familiar with. But at this point, I don’t have room to be picky: if you wish to receive a gif header from a fandom I’m unfamiliar with, I’ll need more information to work with: what season/episode do you want it from, etc, as I won’t have the necessary context otherwise. I will also check to make sure I can find the footage I need for any commissions before accepting them (chances are if it's Star Wars, I probably already have it).

WHAT I WON’T MAKE:

Anything involving nudity or sexual activity (using my gifs on 18+ blogs or even for mature/explicit fics is fine, I just don't want to gif sexual stuff)

Scenes with gore

Giffing celebrities; icons are fine, but finding HD footage for actors/actresses in interviews is time-consuming and difficult to work with.
