How does tumblr decide what actually shows up in the tags and what doesn’t? Because it’s really making me annoyed that I’m posting these moodboards and aesthetic posts that I’m really proud of but like no one is seeing because they are not showing up in ANY of the tags that I put on them. Ugh.

Its so weird that you aren’t because I am able to tag you 😭. Have you tried logging out of mobile and back in? That help me when I wasn’t getting tagged in stuff!

Is it just me or is the tagging situation getting worse? I'm finding stuff from KPop, House of Dragon, Harry Potter and mission impossible in the top gun tag and associated character tags.
today’s pet peeve is hyper excessive tagging on Ao3. i am looking for specific pairing - let’s call it X/Y. i put that in and say “alright Ao3, you hot dog of a website, show me all the X/Y you got, sorted by kudo count” on the assumption that if a lot of people like it, it’s probably decently written. and yes, i certainly get my X/Y. and i also get a metric shit ton of X/Y/Z and X/Y/ABCDE too because people have tagged EVERY SINGLE POSSIBLE COMBINATION of their X/Y/KitchenSink on their fic, so much so that the top half of their tag labels looks like they’re making alphabet soup. annoying. if i wanted X/Y/KitchenSink, people, i would SEARCH for it. i have to carefully proofread the first two lines of the tags to see what orgy i’m getting myself into if I misclick.

Sooo.... why do my tags not work at all?
I know I'm not the only person with this problem, but I researched the reasons and none of them apply. When I search "jetlings" I get no results from my blog, though I tagged several new posts within the first 5 tags with it. My blog is neither new nor do I cross some mysterious "more than 3 times in use within 24 h" limit with the tags. So what the heck is wrong?
