your asks have made me realise that - at least from what i've seen wandering around the last couple of days - lewis has very little presence in monaco. charles (and ferrari) is obviously everywhere (i saw a tv in one window playing his monaco win seemingly on loop), the first thing i saw upon leaving the train station when i arrived was max/rbr merch, i've seen art of the classics hanging in hotels, but lewis seems to be mostly lumped in with all of the other drivers. even his racecar in the prince's exhibit isn't just his car, it's his and nico's! when right next to it is a car that says KIMI RAIKKONEN in massive letters!
i dunno, it just seems strange that a driver with lewis' track record is almost conspicuously absent in what is effectively one of ferrari's strongholds, and it's even stranger that he decided to move over to them with that absence in mind. just makes me think again of how much charles is ferrari when lewis will never achieve that.
Lol, tbt to last year's Monaco GP when the entire country was covered in that one Tag Heuer ad. Max was everywhere. But it's true that Lewis doesn't really have a Monaco presence.

(2/2) so when the light/“star” fell at the beginning of the movie he sorta understood that it was due to the nature of his reality. it was only when meryl, marlon and his mother start acting more desperately that he realises that they’re all in on it - that’s when he decides that he needs to get out and find sylvia, because if it’s just him then he has no way to trust what is real and what is fake any more (see also, the convo with marlon where christof is feeding him lines)

& yeah that’s a solid theory! it’s very possible he knows something is ‘off’ about Seahaven and that’s part of the reason he’s so keen to leave.
that said I think I prefer the interpretation that he genuinely had no idea prior to the events of the film. personally I always took the falling star thing as representative of what usually happens when there’s a fourth wall breech - something like that happens, Truman is puzzled, he’s presented with an explanation, accepts it & moves on with his day
also I’ve just realised, outside of the scene in the library I don’t think we see a lot of books in Seahaven? TV & magazines but not a lot of books. weird.
