glow up without overconsuming

somewhere along the way, the idea of a “glow up” got tangled up with constant buying. new clothes, new products, new everything. but the truth is: the glow doesn’t come from accumulation — it comes from intention.

a real glow up is quieter than a haul. it’s about knowing what works for you and moving with care instead of impulse.

before adding anything new, pause and take stock. ask yourself if you actually love it, if it fits your real day-to-day life, and if you can imagine wearing or using it in multiple ways. so much clarity comes from auditing before adding.

your closet already holds more potential than you think. rewear pieces in new combinations, layer differently, experiment with proportions, or get something tailored. styling what you already own is one of the most underrated ways to elevate your look.

details matter more than quantity. steamed clothes, clean shoes, intentional accessories, and proper storage can completely change how something feels. care creates polish — not price tags.

instead of chasing trends, focus on building a signature. a few silhouettes, colors, or textures that always make you feel confident will take you further than endlessly rotating aesthetics. consistency is its own kind of luxury.

inspiration doesn’t require consumption. save outfits, curate moodboards, screenshot looks, collect ideas digitally. admiring something doesn’t mean you need to own it.

style is deeply connected to lifestyle. rest, movement, nourishment, and presence show up in how you carry yourself. the glow starts long before the outfit does.

and when you do decide to buy something new, let it be intentional. secondhand when possible. quality over quantity. aligned with who you are now — not who you’re trying to become overnight.

the real glow up happens when you realize you already have enough — and you start choosing with care.

Status: Comfy but Competent

UAT testing for my non-hated, actually mostly functional project today, so wish me luck! Feeling surprisingly ok, so I put a little effort in the makeup. Outfit is the chillest I could manage tho, it's all silky satin and velvet but it might as well be a pyjama. (Pro tip: nice fancy fabrics are how you turn comfy pyjama outfits into office wear!)

A week of outfits!

1. Felt really good in this, these colors are all core to my style, and i just adore them. Plus FISH.

2. I love my tomato vest with that green top!

3. Why do I feel my hottest when I look the most disheveled? Anyway, happy to find a way to wear that crochet piece that I feel comfortable in because I really do love it.

4. I'm obsessed with this outfit. I love the little peek of the striped shirt at the collar. I love the purple and greys together I love it with the brown leather shoes. Mwah, chefs kiss.

5. I'm so glad I found this velvet dress again, after it was missing for years, I still don't wear it enough because I wish it was bigger and longer , but man is it comfortable. Paired with a chunky sweater on top and some funky necklaces, that's an outfit formula I've loved since high-school when the dress fit me better.

Dear diary,

Now I’ve made the decisions to deactivate instagram I’ve been thinking of turning or shall I say…transitioning this account into a space to document mainly my style and other things like thoughts, small life moments, movies. Like today, today was the perfect easy Saturday. We tidied the apartment, lounged about, I finally watched You’ve got Mail - pictures of the interiors of Kathleen’s apartment have been flooding my Pinterest! We went out to eat my new favourite meal at probably my favourite spot for dinner and continued our interesting conversation on our way home in the 20 minute window before it rained again. Here I am typing this before my second cup of tea and it’s perfect. Just perfect.
