Amy Puryear’s Stage Style Spotlight is up! Laila Belle’s leading lady wore two different floral outfits at their two shows at @fingerlakesgrassrootsfest last month. I love how different they each are and will share more about floral feels and how they translate inspired by @amy_bountiful_beauty and @lailabelle_band. Amy said, “I feel like our clothes are such an expression of ourselves, it's an art form really - to find what fits our mood and ourselves on any given day. I was so thankful to have these wonderful outfits, that have brought joy and love in the past, and were just right to bring it again in a whole new way at the 30th Finger Lakes GrassRoots Festival of Music and Dance!” An art form indeed! And Amy totally set the tone with her style and showed up sweetly spreading her contagious sweetness and smiles and good vibes! Each musician is as different as her music and their style and decisions behind them vary also. One common thread is that every musician at GrassRoots gets up on stage to entertain music lovers, express themselves, and bare their heart and soul through song. Wearing the clothing that allows them the comfort and conjures the confidence to do so is important. Powerhouse vocalists and musicians take center stage to delight and inspire as they bare their heart and souls through musical performances. LIVE MUSIC is back and a hugely vital part of my life and I know so many of yours too! My favorite music festival @fingerlakesgrassrootsfest was finally back in full swing this year after two long hard years of covid. My husband is a musician and I know precisely how difficult not being able to perform was on the music makers who bring us so much joy. Last weekend I was once again overwhelmed by excitement, emotion and inspiration as I watched Rock Goddesses rule GrassRoots stages! It got me thinking about what goes into their preparation before stepping out onto stage. I am overjoyed to be bringing you some insights from some of my fave Sheros in the way of Stage Style Spotlights. Powerful female voices entertain and empower, but their image models and delights us. To some performers it’s an obvious part of the show, to others it supports their confidence and comfort. Over the next few days I’ll be sharing some GrassRoots Goddesses’ stage style and how claiming their image helps them step out, show up and stand out. GrassRoots Style Recap : BODY ART 🎨 Continuing the @fingerlakesgrassrootsfest magic today I’m highlighting one of my personal fave festival fashion statements: body art … paint, glitter, temporary tattoos … You can get done up by a pro like @ryanbcurtis or have your Uncle Bumpy give you a bandanna/cooler water temporary tattoo or get in line to get dolled up by a bud! Of course music festivals are a place where your permanent body art like tattoos and piercings are commonplace, accepted and celebrated too, but getting wild with adornment can be a super fun way to experiment with bold body art you might not normally get down with. Festivals are a great safe space to experiment and really have fun playing with personal style.
