Street Snaps: Alley Cat (Muted Tones and Textures)
Muted tones and textures is a project that I’ve created to help people build a wardrobe that captures classic neutral colors. Having a well-balanced wardrobe and look is key for me but more importantly developing your “style” and creating your “look” are both important factors to remember as you’re transitioning your wardrobe for the upcoming fall/winter season. For this look I chose to keep things simple and casual by creating a look based on dark and muted tones. I went with a subtle approach that really captures that essence of darkness and shadows.
Intelligent simplification, self-reflections, and the sense of essential are three components that will help guide you as you’re forming your own sense of style. Be honest with yourself and assess what type of consumer you are before investing in new items. Changing the way you consume is extremely vital when you’re developing your own look. Take into account the brands that are transparent, quality and detail oriented because those are the brands that you should be investing in. Simplify your style by adding essential pieces to your wardrobe for example a pair of chinos/denim, a shirt, a watch or even a pair of shoes of your choice. Find you staple piece and figure out what works for you and is comfortable to you.
I always find myself creating minimal looks when I decide to get dress in the morning and I’ve developed a uniform based on specific hues. I like to stick with classic neutrals because I find it much easier to build a uniform around simple colors ( black, grey, tan, olive, blue, and white). Take time to reflect on your personal style and look for ways that you can improve and evolve. When purchasing your fall/winter pieces analyze your current wardrobe and create a list of essential items that can be both interchangeable and versatile.
Stay tuned for more looks from this project ladies and gents and feel free to leave feedback, share, or offer suggestions!
