The Sub-Mariner
Art by Bill Everett
From Heritage Auctions...
Everett tragically passed away in the early '70s so there are few specialty illustrations of his in existence. This one shows the character as he looked when Everett first created him as well as his less-angular Silver Age look. The piece is inscribed to fanzine publisher Martin Greim.
Cover of the Day: Defenders #93 (March, 1981) Art by Ron Wilson, Al Milgrom, George Roussos
BHOC: FANTASY MASTERPIECES #8 On that selfsame trip to Bush's Hobbies following my graduation from grade school, I indulged in my interest in golden age comics by picking up this issue of FANTASY MASTERPIECES, which reprinted the first battle between the Human Torch and the Sub-Mariner, a story I had read about previously in Jim Steranko's HISTORY OF COMICS.... http://tombrevoort.com/2026/06/13/bhoc-fantasy-masterpieces-8/
