book challenge

from subadamantine b/c I can't resist book stuff, but i just didn't want to do it on facebook, so i'm doing it here ;P 

Book Challenge:  make a list of 10 books you have read that have made an impression on you for some reason, but in no particular order. Then tag 10 friends and challenge them to do the same. Please tag me too so I can see your choices.

1. the shadow catcher, by marianne wiggins (I bought this at the Green Apple Bookstore and it's just my favourite book of life. i TAKE IT EVERYWHERE)

2. sabriel, by garth nix (dear lord, this book was my jam in high school 'cause who doesn't like reading about awesome female necromancers and snarky cats??) 

3. tamsin, by peter beagle (ughh such a good coming-of-age story and is another comfort book for me. ALSO. there was an indian girl in this which i loved b/c lol lack of POCs characters during my time in general)

4. tinkers, by paul harding (i randomly picked this one up at a Chapters and all nature descriptions are so comforting. love love love) 

5. the hogfather (discworld), by terry pratchett (i had to read this for a fantasty/sci-fi class and it made me laugh. so. hard.) 6. enders game, by orson scott card (i read this book in grade 10 and the end messed me up SO BAD GOD ENDERS GAME)

7. the human soul as a rube goldberg device, by kevin brockmeier (i found this in a bookstore in paris and it was one of those books that seems come to you at just the right time and helped me get through a bunchhh of stuff. i actually can't find my copy so i'm hoping it'll show up soon ... ) 

8. the penelopiad, by margaret atwood (apparently there was a toronto production of this book with megan follows in 2012 and I HAD NO IDEA UNTIL A WEEK AGO. *seethes*) 

9. running in the family, by michael ondaatje (i read this for an english class in first year and even though i had the most idiotic, sexist professor EVER, i haven't been able to stop reading ondaatje's books since) 10. wicked, by gregory mcguire (cause as much as i loved the musical, who doesn't love a more gritty political Oz?)

basically u___u this is in regards to the wyf/exo thing and a lot of them seem to have developed this almost cultlike belief that he can do no wrong at this point so maybe they mean only he can but.......still............

respect for this because i legit spent four years in psychology and still know very little about brain anatomy

yeah this is the required "mind and brain" course which means "only brain structures" i'm kinda not a huge fan of how it's taught tbh. very little, you know ... psychology ....
