Trying to Explain Jungian Pairing in Myers Briggs
Please remember that these are boxes, and humans, who are prone to learn, are not reduced to monophonic tunes because of how they perceive and process the world.
Judging:
Fi Te -- You find your answers inside. You expect the rest of the world to reflect those answers. This allows you to be sympathetic, but you can also be prone to righteous anger and rants. xxFP
Te Fi -- You know how to order the world around you and expect others to do the same. People who have difficulty with this may seem foolish in your eyes. xxTJ
Ti Fe -- Things must, first and foremost, make sense, and they often do, but answers exist on the outside. You are prone to empathy, meaning that you are fairly affected by others’ moods, but you sometimes lack the coping mechanisms to deal with them, even if you understand the causes. xxTP
Fe Ti -- The world around you glows with the human heart. When someone says something is bothering them, you actually believe them. Supposedly, you are very informed by other people’s opinions and have difficulty understanding/coping with your own emotions. xxFJ (feel free to explain this to me better)
Perceiving:
Ni Se -- When you see how thing are, it tells you how they will be. You are very good at future planning and finding likely solutions, but have difficulty imagining that other people might not think on the same plane or accept obvious conclusions. xNxJ
Se Ni -- The world is dynamically active. You are very aware of circumstances and fairly aware of their conclusions. You experience the world with an immediacy other pairings may miss. Your powers of deduction may not be so bad. xSxP
Si Ne -- The past is strong with this one. Your mind is filled with nostalgia, evidence, and facts. Naturally, by comparing it to this, when you see the world, it is a little more abstract and archetypal. Note: the primary way you interact with the world, though, is with your Judging function (Te or Fe). xSxJ
Ne Si -- You interact with the world through ideas. At every single moment, you are trying to abstractly/archetypally explain circumstances to yourself by comparing it with the things you already know. Instead of predicting a single future circumstance, you see all possible futures, and it is confusing. xNxP
I hope I didn’t shortchange anyone (I probably did). I kind of wanted to make this because I felt the T-F dichotomy was misrepresented in another post as reason vs feeling, when it is really reason/order vs convictions (gut or compassion).
