Behold, I made a Substack not too long ago and posted my first thing today about how roller derby is breaking me from the binds of cPTSD
Here's the artwork I made for it:
Please read it and enjoy or I'll throw up
I wrote another essay! This one is a strange one but I love it with all my heart. I wrote about love and men and aliens, sort of. Here’s the link to my substack post.

Purity Culture and the Performance of Female ‘Asexuality’
The performance of asexuality in this context is the act by which women publicly minimize, deny or ritualize the absence of sexual desire in order to be perceived as pure or morally upright.
‘‘How long do women ovulate?’’
I had just walked into my accounting class, barely having time to settle in when I was fired this question by a female course mate.
I was stunned not because there was any thing particularly wrong with what she asked but because of how unbashful she was towards such topic especially in a public space as our lecture hall.
After giving her my response, I sat down and watched the conversation unfold. I was pleased for the most part because I had never seen a group of girls discuss anything in regards to women’s sexual urges publicly without whispering or apologizing. It was indeed refreshing.
For centuries the female sexuality has been subjected to heavy scrutiny and policing categorizing women into boxes like the ‘Madonna’ or the ‘whore’. The woman worthy of reverence or the woman to be treated like an outcast. Labels that leave no room for nuance or complexity.....

How ancient myths became the foundation of modern storytelling
Greek mythology has always been one of my favourite things to read about, so naturally I wrote about why we keep retelling these stories thousands of years later. I just finished re-reading the Odyssey because I’m excited for the new movie adaptation coming out in July.
