also I dont think I can get fully into the details of it until im actually caught up but succession is so good at subtly showing how emotionally abused children learn to manipulate their parents (and, as a result, everyone around them) to get what they want and ultimately survive
and especially the different ways in which they do it like. there's being two faced, there's saying one thing while knowing another, and then there's honesty couched in social placating so that nothing feels like a personal attack that could set your abuser off
