Vintage letterpress cuts and ornaments from the Springtide Press collection formed elements in a pattern created by @drawntheroad for the exhibit “Votes for Women: 100 Years & Counting”. (Like women’s suffrage, there have been delays and obstacles, but we keep working!) We’ll share more details as @deadfeminists and @washingtonhistory discuss the exhibition tomorrow. “Give me a place to stand, and a printing press big enough, and I will move the world!”

The quote is fictitious, but these woman suffrage periodicals weren’t kidding! The movement produced a great many newsletters, newspapers, and journals that rallied supporters and spread the news.
