another gaming story

this is is from Call of Cthulu (1920s).

We were playing in a room that occupied most of the 4th floor of a building built mid-19th century with a lantern (windowed roof projection that provides natural light). It was late and well, it was Call of Cthulu. It was a wet, autumn night with a bit of light from streetlights outside. We had turned down the interior lights a bit, but still light enough we could see the character sheets.

We had had some in-game creepy moments; giant spider, odd noises, etc. Our GM was really good with the atmospheric. One of the players leaned back in her chair and slowly commented, ‘I know that’s a maple leaf stuck to that window, but I swear it looks like a webbed hand.’ We all slowly looked up.

And decided to take a break.
