Ari laughs, obviously just a bit tipsy now that the twins are passed out on the couch, as they lean on Jack and wrap their arms around him. Their voice is soft as they talk, count down finishing up on the T.V. "It's midnight --" and there's no hesitation to the kiss that comes at the chime. "I love you."
New Years smooches!! / @sugarkss
New Years was always a bittersweet time, especially now considering Ari’s presence in his life. Spending the night at their place with them and the twins was an offer he couldn’t refuse, and he didn’t regret it-- it was an amazing time. He told himself to allow himself to get lost within the present: he couldn’t afford to let his mind wander to the future, when they may have to be separated in a way that was more permanent than any season.
The tension in his body when Ari’s arms wrapped around him was so brief that he was unsure if Ari even noticed - it wasn’t like it was intentional, it was habit - but he smiles just before their lips meet in a soft kiss that lasts more than a few seconds past the initial announcement.
His smile only widens against Ari’s lips as they pull back, blue eyes meeting with green as blue tints his cheeks; lifting a hand to brush over their cheek softly. “-- I love you too. Happy New Years.”
