     “ wait -- hold on, you’re telling me i can have everything that’s left? all of those treats? for me? awesome! ” 

         just the sheer thought of being allowed the remains of a candy store filled him with an excited childish glee that he couldn’t quite contain, and he didn’t hesitate before he rushed forward, running inside as fast as his legs could carry him. from the moment he’d grabbed hold of some of those free samples, he’d had a craving for more sugar, so this was just.. something else. 

      he stopped after a moment, rubbing his hands together eagerly, before he dove for a tray of chocolates, eagerly tossing them up into his mouth, chewing rapidly. oh, he wasn’t going to stop, even if he got a stomach ache! he was unstoppable!

“Um... hello?” She didn’t remember ever seeing Frill’s little bakery before. It looked neat, though, and the ruby was pretty intrigued. So there she was, standing in the entrance with a curious look on her face.

“Is anyone here?” Leggy tilted her head and took a couple more steps inside. The other rubies had found their own things to do. Leggy, though, didn’t know if she was qualified to do what they were doing. Maybe Frill wouldn’t mind an extra hand around the bakery?

Lola had gone and done it — she won a beauty pageant outside of her state!

Needless to say, she was proud of herself. Ever since she was a baby, she has been winning these in Michigan, and now, she has expanded and won one in another state, off further in the East. Her parents were extremely proud of her, telling her how well she did.

Tomorrow, they would go out celebrating with her siblings, but for now, they let Lola go into a sweets shop near where the pageant was. She was allowed to pick out anything she wanted, which thrilled Lola. Her sweet tooth was almost incomparable, and in her tiny pink heels, she ran inside and looked around with sparkly blue eyes.

She wanted everything, even if that was a bit unrealistic.

Lola ran up to the glass in the front, pressing her hands against it and scanning over the different cakes that were there. They all looked so good, this was going to be impossible.

Right as a thoughtful frown started to make itself at home on her face, a gentle voice stopped it from forming all the way. She would have been upset by it had it not been a compliment that interrupted her. Lola peered up with a cheeky smile, saying, “Woah,” when she saw a pink fairy-like figure at the counter.

“Thank you!” Lola exclaimed and then twirled around in her frilly dress. It sparkled as she did so, the fluff rising up and down until she stopped. She said, “My sister Leni made it for me! Isn’t it perfect? You’re so cute too! Where did you get that bow? I love it!”

Carnelian didn’t claim to know Beach City well. She did, however, recognize that this was a pretty new building. Curiosity had beckoned her, and she went inside before too long. When she entered, the smell of sweets was the very first thing that hit her.

“Wow...” What was this place? Who did it belong to? More importantly, why did it smell so good?

“I don’t know what this place is, but it’s amazing so far!”

"Could I have a tour?" Starter for @sugaryswcct!

The only times that gems did come to this facility, was for tours.

Blue Diamond and Yellow Diamond occasionally sent them, the former for inspections and the latter for the sake of entertaining her gems. Those times were usually good ones for Holly Blue because she had the opportunity to interact with gems outside of the rambunctious quartzes kept on the base. And, as a bonus, most of the gems that visited were aristocrats, which pleased Holly greatly.

Today’s visitor was a morganite that called herself Frill. In some aspects, such as her fluttering wings and size, she resembled an aquamarine. However, morganites were nothing like aquamarines, they contained kindness where aquamarines held cruelty. Whether Holly saw their charitable nature as weakness was up for debate, but she wouldn’t question it, treating Frill with the upmost respect. She was of a higher class than Holly, and Blue Diamond wouldn’t be keen on her disrespecting one of Pink Diamond’s gems.

Holly bowed at Frill and then straightened herself out at the question, replying, “Absolutely, I had assumed that was what you came here for, Frill.”

Despite Holly’s... Blunder, awhile ago, the quartzes here still held some respect for her when visitors came. She snapped her fingers, and at once, an amethyst opened a pair of doors for them. Holly walked through it and led the way, her expression remaining professional, although internally she was hoping that nobody was fooling around on the job.

“We have many areas in our magnificent structure for you to visit such as our zoo, our gem tech room. Is there anywhere in particular that you would like to begin?”
