“i love the way sui lu connects her L turn to full turn”
Really thinking about it, my Holy Trinity of floor exercise routines is Sui Lu 2011, Aly Raisman 2015-16, Sandra Izbasa 2008.
a gymnast that’s a mixture of he kexin’s vt/ub and sui lu’s bb/fx would make china’s best aaer to date

perhaps time for my unpopular opinion, but Sui Lu should’ve walked away from this world championships with two gold medals, one in beam AND floor. This routine was near perfect. Both she and Afanasyeva performed great, great chorepgraphy with the same 6.1 d score and to me Lu was just a bit better. Her turns were outstanding, particularly the Gomez, which was completely mesmerizing. If you watch Ksenia’s routine, she cheats her turns a bit and for me, Sui Lu had better landings. The whip triple stag jump was remarkable and still gives me chills

The Results are in! Here are your favorite beam routines of the decade, as voted by the gymternet! All links and descriptions under the cut!
1. Sui Lu (CHN)—2011 Worlds EF (33 votes) Difficult acro and dance with textbook form and extension—powerful yet light beam work. One of the best Grigoras’s (front tuck ½) in the business on full display here, and ends a near-perfect routine with a stuck double pike. Her gold-winning routine received the highest international beam score of the 09-12 quad. in summary, stan sui lu.
2. Sanne Wevers (NED)—2016 Olympics EF (21 votes) Unique and unusual routine construction heavily reliant on dance elements like her eponymous skill (double L turn), plus long dance connections. The first Dutch female gymnast to become an individual Olympic champion.
3. Liu Tingting (CHN)—2018 Worlds EF (14 votes) Classic long lines, amazing leaps/jumps, perfect example of how to maximize the connection-favoring 2017-20 beam code.
Day 50/65: Sui Lu I often forget about this routine (oops, sorry). It’s not as good as her 2011 routine, but it’s also really lovely. This was also her first medal at a World Championships.
day 10: suni lu (chn) floor event finals at the 2011 world championships in tokyo.
score: 15.066 (6.1, 8.966) (SILVER)
why i chose this routine: everyone says “oh sui lu the beam queen.” NO. it is “sui lu THE QUEEN”. this was gorgeous, she literally floats across the floor. absolutely nothing is wrong with this routine i swear. this was so freaking good and i miss her so much
