Request: Reader is PMSing and Digger deals with it
Digger knew something was wrong the moment he walked in the door. You didn’t immediately run to greet him like you normally did, instead you stayed put on the couch, buried under blankets and looking ill. He cocked his head to the side and frowned.
“You alright there little miss?” he asked, moving around to face you. You groaned and glared.
“You’ve been gone awhile...and I’ve been in pain...how could you just abandon me?” you demanded, sniffling. His eyes widened. O no, o come on! Not when he got home! This was supposed to be the time you two got to get down and dirty, but not this time. “Digger?! DIGGER?! Do you even care?!” You looked angry now, sitting up and staring daggers at him.
“Yes I care, you know that!” he said. He folded his arms and watched you for a moment before moving over to you. “Lay down, I will be right back ok?”
You were yelling at him as he left your place again, but he was on a mission. An hour later he came back to find you curled up in a ball on the couch, looking miserable again.
“Where’d you go? Are you leaving me? Is there someone else?” you cried. He sighed, knowing this was just your mood swings talking.
“I didn’t leave ya and I ain’t ever leaving ya, I love ya little miss,” he said, handing you a bag. Inside was Aleve, your favorite chocolate, a heating pad, and a bouquet of flowers with a stuffed unicorn. “Thought you would like this,” he said. You looked from the gifts to him and then smiled a watery smile.
“O Digger! I love you so much!” you said, now crying for happiness. Digger smiled and leaned in, kissing you softly before settling on the couch to help you get comfy and eat some chocolate.
Summary: Based on the prompt ‘Do you really love me? Not just because you have to?’
Waylon had never thought he would find anyone, his condition left him hopeless and angry, causing some of his rather violent freak outs. Then you showed up in his life. He could feel it as soon as you touched his hand, you didn’t cower in fear, in fact, you smiled at him. You told him that he was your soulmate and that you wanted to see where this feeling you had led. He was of course nervous about that, he was angry and violent and you seemed so small and fragile, and how did he know that you would ever truly care about him?
You spent months in a sewer with him, seemingly immune to the smell or the dank space, just enjoying the company of this freak of nature you were saddled with and he didn’t understand. You spent hours talking to him, learning about him even though he didn’t speak much. It was after you had rambled on about your high school prom that he finally had to ask.
“Do you really love me? Love this life? And not because you have too?” he said, his voice gruff but soft. You looked over at him and smiled.
“Yes I love you, I didn’t think you were my soulmate because I had to, but because I felt so connected to you the moment we met,” you said, smiling at him. For once in his life Waylon finally felt calm and he smiled a genuine smile.
Peacemaker is my new favorite DC show. What did you guys think? Comment below #dccomics #peacemaker #suicidesqaud #hbomax https://www.instagram.com/p/CYz8WA-tUSy/?utm_medium=tumblr
I tend to drag feet into any DC comics movie. I've been hurt before. The newest Suicide Squad took a page out of the MCU playbook by adding humour into the film at key parts. It had a deadpoolesque feel to it and threw a lot of gritty dark comic death and destruction that I think plays well in the DC universe. The cast of characters were of interest and the often short lived lifespans of stupid plans made the movie easy to laugh out loud at. The film gave me faith in the DC Cinema Universe. Equipped with a heavy dose of interchanging comedy and action the film was a joy to watch. I just wish I got to see more of the Weasel.
