rewatching suits and it's crazy how mike and harvey are a fated duo right from the pilot.
Right before the iconic interview, we see jessica talk to her mentor regarding her decision in promoting Harvey. She's sceptical that he doesn't care enough about the people around him. Her mentor says, "The man's missing compassion? I'd shove it down his throat." And right afterwards, we see Mike in the hotel. Mike Ross - the personification of compassion and kindness and everything good in the world - everything Harvey isn't capable of showing (from a viewer's perspective).
To the viewer, Harvey hiring Mike despite him being a fraud is the very first act of him caring. It only gets better after this. Mike enters his life and Harvey's entire life takes a turn for the better.
