he knows the feeling. seokjin went for years not knowing what happened to suji, and although he had hoped for the best—safe, happy, far away from lotus—he had never been able to rid himself of the lingering doubt that signaled the worst. although he hoped she was alive it had been like losing her in a way; she was out of his life, out of contact, out of his knowledge. and now, having her back…if something happened to her, he doesn’t know how he’d react. he hums soothingly, squeezing her shoulder gently.
“i would be the same,” he placates. “i’d absolutely freak out. but you don’t have to worry about me, okay?” he’s comforting, but serious. “what i do doesn’t put me in the line of fire. i don’t plan on going anywhere anytime soon, i promise.”
Jihyo eyed the slot machine in front of her idly, arms crossed over her chest as reels spun wildly while the sound of coins clanging blared in the background loudly. When the spinning symbols finally stopped, she grimaced slightly at the flashing lights signalling she hit jackpot. She couldn’t find the joy in playing these games, and with a shrug, emptied the pile of coins into the basket easily.
The moment she got up from the seat, someone took over immediately, perhaps hoping to win a fortune from the luck that may have lingered around.
She vaguely remembered someone said that she had been given blessing from the goddess of luck, because whatever she touched, she always win. But did it matter though? Probably not when she’s not that interested in gambling at all. At least not in the casino that Jongkook was in charge of.
“Entertain your unnie, it’s too boring,” she complained, sliding up to the stool next to Suji as she set the basket of coin on the bar counter before turning to the bartender on duty. “A glass of cosmo, thanks.”
