Read Woman at Point Zero
Welp, I guess I gotta keep on chugging
***EDIT***
I have done nothing. I don't think I work anymore... I am now a sea star who lies around and moves my limbs but does not move them with purpose
In order to develop the sketch that I had drawn of this photograph I decided to use watercolours to add the main colours into the piece without the larger aspects of shading being present. I felt that only including the main colours would allow me to make a flatter effect to the piece but that using watercolours was a good way of having flat colours which still had a slight texture to them as I have always found that it is difficult to use watercolour without the inclusion of brush strokes in the piece. One of the issues I had with this piece created a detail that I hadn’t intended at the beginning of the piece. Due to the fact that I was working on top of a photocopy of the original sketch I found that whilst trying to add a slight amount of texture to the white areas in the piece that the water I was using was picking up the ink that I hadn’t realised was there and so was turning several areas of my piece blue. Whilst I initially disliked this due to it being an unexpected effect I have come to rather like this addition to the piece in it’s variation from the reference drawing.
||07/07/17|| I apologize for the very long hiatius I have taken with no notice. The end of the school year did not leave me a single moment to post updates on this blog, but with summer, I am back! And with summer, summer homework. (Plus a sneak peek in my bullet journal!)
Even with it being a lot of stuff, how is it that summer homework always seems to be so much better than homework during the year?

I thought it would be a fantastic idea to create an environmental mood board for the limbo space my character traverses to get a feel for the kind of surrounds I could include as well as what colour might be present in such an area. It is mostly made up of very desolate land with cool and neutral tones - especially a lot of grey. I found this interesting as the use of grey in particular here emphasise the feelings of loneliness and emptiness which is something I want to harp on in my own work so I have taken note of this specifically.
