Does Hindu Vedanta accept other religions?
The Hindu Vedanta assessment and evaluation of all ideologies and religious beliefs is based on a fourfold check list:–
Satyam – truth. Does it stand the test of reason and logic? Does it encourage debate and disagreement and can it stand up to rigorous criticism?
Shivam – goodness. Does it have a universal ethic of benevolence which benefits all beings – sentient and insentient. Does it stand for non-violence, compassion and welfare of all beings (loka-sangraha)?
Sundaram - beauty. Does it encourage, support and promote the arts, music, dance, drama, theater, sculpture, painting etc. etc.?
Shanti - peace. Does it contribute to and promote peace and harmony in the individual, in the family, between families and communities, between communities and countries and between the earth and other planets?
If the answer to all these questions is YES then we accept it as a valid ideology. If it fails the test then it is invalid.
