We’re back again for another chilled start to the week. To sum up today’s playlist, what you’ll hear will be a mix of laid-back hip-hop-esque beats with a hefty portion of numbing synth swirls. You might enjoy a nice and smooth ride with Galimatias and deeBin their calming old-school grooves. On the other hand, for those who enjoy gritty bass lines or oscillating waves of electronic chorus lines, the Dimond Saints and Oli Slackremixes might be right up your alley.

As a bit of a recognition, it’s really cool to see Oli Slack’s talent taking off like it has with this remix. Back in the very first volumes of Sunday Solace, Slack was featured because of his great chillwave style of musical production. This remix has already gained over 50,000 views within the past two weeks since its release, so I’m excited to see what steps he decides to take next.

The Sound of Animals Fighting and their song “Heretic” has been a favorite of mine since childhood. Evol Intent’s remix of it adds such beautifully deep character, best observed through appropriate speakers.

It’s been far too long.

For today’s playlist, we’re just gonna keep the commentary short and sweet while we get to the point of why you’re really here: to soak up all the good feels of new tunes. It has been a few weeks since the last Volume, and if we are one in the same then I am certain you’re ready for some new additions to your music library. Volume 24 features a dozen tracks that are exceptionally smooth on the ears, yet playfully upbeat. As you listen, you might catch yourself subconsciously moving around to electro-pop, hip-hop, and even some jazzy vibes.

Personal opinion: Mansionair’s “Hold Me Down” is seductive and addictive in it’s pulse; making it difficult to not become transformed into a bobble-head for nearly six minutes. Stay on the look-out for these two Aussie artists.

Anyway, without any further ado: Volume 24. Throw us—and even more importantly, the artists themselves—some feedback on what you think. Hope you enjoy.

Isn’t wintertime great? The air is crisp and cold, slowing the pace of life down to the very molecules we’re made of. It’s a completely appropriate excuse to stay indoors and take things easy. For those who are fortunate enough to soak their boots in a wondrous white blanket of snow, I envy you. As for me, I’ll stick to appreciating the chilled sting of winter’s air in my lungs and the ever-abundant need for blankets and hot apple cider.

Now on to what you’re really here for…

In today’s post, you’ll hear ten smooth tracks that keep the soothing character of the winter months alive. Starting off thick with ethereal and deep tracks from LA producer Benzamak, and Pittsburg’s very own “vibe funk infuser”, Tulpa. Both of these songs have such incredible atmosphere; especially Tulpa’s remix of “Love & Pain”. JMSN’s original is a vortex of synth to begin with, and Tulpa beautifully filters it out into a dreamscape mix.

As usual, the playlist begins an ascension in energy, but only slightly. You can first hear the joy rise within the happily bouncing remix of “I See Fire”. Ed Sheeran wrote this catchy masterpiece for The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, in which Kygo mixed a Shire-esque funk that makes it difficult to sit still while listening.

Whether you seize the wintery day, or you are like myself and enjoy the solitude, I hope today’s mix satisfies your desire for new music to indulge in. Stay safe and check back in next Sunday for more!

Clearly, the holidays can be a time of heavy demand on one’s schedule; it sure has been for me. I hope all of you have been able to have a blessed season of thankfulness and reuniting with family and friends. This week for Sunday Solace, we have a solid mix of warm and cool tunes to compliment the wintry mood we all are feeling.

Starting off Volume 22 are a few light mixes of Bondax, The 1975, and a personal favoriteLana Del Rey. Patrick Baker’s vocal edit of “Just Us” adds a seductive swirl to Bondax’s original production. It’s quite different, but I enjoy it and hope you do as well. Speaking of remixes that portray a different feel than the original… Ryan Hemsworthtook the rock anthem of “Sex“, by The 1975, and formed such a beautifully melancholic atmosphere with his edit. When I listen to the two, I find myself imagining a scene of a wishful John Doe in pursuit of his Jane with no-holds-barred determination (found in the original song), only to leave let down, hanging his head in Hemsworth’s remake. It’s a beautiful compliment to its musical prior. Hemsworth has been featured several times on Sunday Solace for his calming style of musical taste, so I certainly recommend following his work.

As you continue along the playlist, observe the warm progression within the sound. Alina Baraz and Galimatias come together to create a sensual work of art within “Make You Feel” through deeply rolling bass and whispering vocals. Lobo’s edit of “So Gone“, by John Legend, brings together the heat of a soulful choir with a pleasantly bouncy groove. My hat goes off to Pierce Fulton for his choice in creating a remix of “In No Time“. Paul Meany, MuteMath’s lead vocalist, has a uniquely smooth voice that fits perfectly within this playlist.

I’ve always been a huge fan of Drake and his R&B feel. His beats make me think of melodramatic class, so to speak; a soft piano roll in background of a whirlwind of synth and… feelings. So, by choosing to feature Jhene Aiko on his new track, “From Time“, her voice reflected the song’s feel of reminiscence so beautifully. “The Worst“, Aiko’s original, has a similar sound to the single by Drake. Chase Miles, a producer of “electronic and soul vibes” from Seattle, compliments Aiko’s original so well with a heavy punch of bass and distant synth rises and falls. Honestly, listening to the two I find myself at a standstill in deciding which version I enjoy more.

Weekends feel like a blink when your schedule is packed day and night; you find yourself waking up in a daze at seven in the evening on a Sunday… Anyone feeling me on that one? If so, you’re in the right place for a little remedy. Volume 21 features a sweet blend of subtle and smooth.

To start off the set, we’ve got a new original from our very own MVEMNT! “Tuba City” has a nice highway-driving flow, like wind in your face, that wakes you up in a rejuvenating manner. He’s been doing an excellent job mixing together Sunday Solace each week, so make sure to go check out his page and give him some love.

A little further into the mix and you might recognize the original tune to Alice Jemima’s seductive cover. Whether you’re a die-hard fan of the old-school Blackstreet, or the song makes you want to watch Pitch Perfect again, it’s still a solid rendition.

Immediately following, we’ve got a Steezemonks remix of Ed Sheeran’s single for The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug. As if the two aren’t great enough by themselves, Ed’s “I See Fire” is bound to become a massive hit. Steezemonks adds a groove that compliments the mellow tone quite well.

Today’s mix revolves around these light tunes. I hope Volume 21 does well with you to bring you peace and/or add a few sweet grooves to your music kollection. Take care!
