“So, this is it. We have to leave now.” Tourmaline shuffled but made no attempts to break Peachy’s embrace. 

“I don’t want you to go.” Peachy was crying and berry did it break Mal’s heart. 

“We can’t stay. You know I wish we could. That I could.” She broke their embrace and Peachy began sobbing. 

“I love you, please don’t go.” Mal stopped dead in her tracks. Of course Peachy, with her flair for the dramatics, would wait until she’s leaving to drop the L word on her. 

Mal spun around to face Peachy, and cradled her face in her hands.”I  love you too. But I still have to go. I’m sorry. I love you.” 

They kissed.

Mal walked away, got into the cab, drove away from Peachy, from her love, and as soon as she was out of Peachy’s sight, she broke down.
