Hey guys, I’ve been wanting to talk about something that has genuinely been bothering me lately, and as a Carat I feel obligated to speak on it.

There’s been a video going around of Minghao/The8 remixing a hymn praising the Prophet Muhammad, and to say I was disappointed would honestly be an understatement. As a Muslim myself, seeing something religious and deeply respected to us used in that kind of context made me really sad and uncomfortable.

And I also feel like if you aren’t Muslim, it’s not really your place to decide whether it’s offensive or not for us, or tell Muslims how we should feel about it. You can acknowledge it may have been a mistake or unintentional, but that still doesn’t erase why so many Muslims are upset about it.

And before anyone says “it wasn’t his remix originally,” that honestly doesn’t make the original artist or him any better either. Using a religious hymn like that in the first place was already disrespectful.

What upsets me even more is that nothing has been said about it even after so many people brought attention to it. At the very least, I think an apology and acknowledgment are needed. I’m not saying this out of hate at all, but because this situation genuinely made me sad as both a Muslim and someone who supports him.

Seungkwan dreamt that Wonwoo passed away and he felt so relieved that it was just a dream. He told Wonwoo about it and Wonwoo said it’s a good dream, he even asked him did he see any blood and Seungkwan said yes he saw the blood too.
