Used my limited graphic design skills to make a chart of all the characters Rosalie has romanced in (almost) every farming sim I've played with her. Lol I'd always wanted to do something like this and I'm pretty happy with the result.
I made a free to use template of it on the right if anyone else wants to show off who they romanced. Feel free to decorate/doo what you like with it- just link back here if you use it so other people can find it o/

Now, though many of these games involved premade mcs- I've played as some variation of Rosalie in games for as long as I could remember.
I noticed there's a trend that popped up in her choices that I think is as interesting as it is amusing. Ofc, most of these choices were just my personal favorite bachelors of that game, but they were still used to devlop her, and I hadn't realized how much she leaned towards certain professions, personalities, ect. I've concluded my girl loves a hardworking boy whose brooding but sweet- or a golden retriever
Marlin: Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life was my first Farming Sim. I didn't get to play the female version until much later in life. So my choice of who'd I/Rosalie married had been pretty decided lonnng before I finally got to play it. But honestly even though I like Marlin, he's kind of the default choice because I didn't care for Rock and Gustafa- and Rosalie wouldn't either. I think if I had ever gotten to play HMDS:Cute I might have liked him more- or she would have married Griffin-
Blue | Harvest Moon: Magical Melody / Friends of Mineral Town: Loved Grey/Blue. (Let's face it their pretty much the same character). Upset the remake took away his hat. Little off topic, but even though character customization wouldn't be a thing in these games for years- I'd used to imagine my character had pink hair like Popuri LOL
Vaughn | Harvest Moon: Sunshine Islands: Vaughn was the first time I ever was head over heels for a character in one of these games- I just adored everything about him and I don't think it's hard to see why. Once she got to know him better, Rosalie def would have been hella smitten for this cowboy- (Also Vaughn walked so Logan could run-)
Owen | Harvest Moon Animal Parade: So Owen is an unexpected deviation. Most of these choices are also my favorites, but when I first played through HM:AP Gil was actually my favorite bachelor. I could have made him and Rosalie work, but it just didn't feel right. So after looking them all over I think she def would have preferred Owen
Dylas | Rune Factory 4: One of my favorite games from the genre- and I think the cast of romanceable characters was STACKED. Dylas was my favorite because he was seriously SO damned cute in all his events 🥰 Also think it's kinda funny he's a horse guy and Rosalie has a lot of horse motifs herself-
Alex | Stardew Valley: REALLY unpopular opinion incoming! I've put over 500+ hrs into SV 😭 but in all that time, I've just never clicked with any of the characters. Which really sucks because this is the first game I ever got to play as Rosalie. Alex and Sam were my favs, but I think Rosalie would lean more towards Alex.
Logan | My Time At Sandrock: Logan 😍💖🥰Just, guh- I LOVE everything about him and MTAS so damn much. Especially because the hyper fixation I had with this game/character was what led me to finalize Rosalie's design/character at long last. I developed so much content for him and Rosalie I never got to share 😭hope I can someday!
Mark | Coral Island: God I love big men who love animals- and Rosalie does too. 💦🥰 Honestly, even though he started out as one of my favorites (later to be replaced by Shark man hoo hoo haw), I wished more of his heart events focused on his relationship with the player instead of the dog. It was really cute at first but like 6 of the 8 cutscenes were about it and most of the time he never even interacted with your character. Was disappointing ngl.
Nokk | Roots of Pacha: Now- Nokk is not currently a romanceable character, but I'm hoping the future update will add him to the roster. 🫠💔Cause this is another case where I LOVE the game to pieces but none of the characters speak to me- aside from the one I can't have-
Hayden: Fields of Mistria: and last but not least- Hayden. He just completely encapsulates so much of what Rosalie finds attractive, it's a little funny. I'm waiting until the game is finished to continue playing and I can't wait to see what the future holds for him.
The following will include some honorable mentions that I didn't include because I didn't have anymore room on my template/they weren't a farming sim/ect.
First up! Nathaniel from Sunhaven!<3 Feel like this responsible captain of the guard would work well with Rosalie. Honestly, there weren't really any choices that felt right for her, but for once in many years my main playthrough of the game ended up being with a different character and I had someone pre-picked out for her. So there lots of great choices, just none that suit Rosalie well.
Chantelle intro time ig? (She needs a lot of context for the art im making for her so buckle up lol)
So this is Chantelle, my precious Sun Haven oc (besides Seraphina my main, who i should post my many drawings of lmao), and is an elven moth witch, who currently resides in the Nel'Vari forest. She is also around 28 years old, afab, she/her.:) Also i warned y'all, it's gonna be reeeaaal long if you want to read it👍🏻
She was the local witch of her hometown, where she was in a long and happy relationship (and engaged by this point) with her partner, Tuilë. Tuilë was a hunter/farmer, and he occasionally went out with fellow huntsman to...hunt.
Chantelle gets a sudden omen from her flowers. Or at least, she believes their paler colours should mean something. She thinks about this every waking minute, her nights are becoming restless over this. Tuilë tells her to calm down, maybe it was just the weather or something.
A few days later, Tuilë goes hunting, but they all get drunk. His friends told him to relax because it's just a few drinks, but alas, an incident happens. Tuilë gets shot in the back. Twice. No one really knows if it was his drunk friends, or if it was even accidental, but it happened.
People come screaming to Chantelle's home, carrying her spouse's bloody body, to rest him somewhere. She runs downstairs in utter shock and panic. She holds him but they collapse to the ground, down to their knees. They are weeping. People yell at Chantelle to do something, but Tuilë shakes his head. He says, with his last breath, "I'm already at peace in your arms", as he bleeds out. She drops to the floor. The town is mourning.
After all of this, Chantelle goes on the path of celibacy, and swears to wear a blindfold when she goes out into social places/places filled with people. She only ever removes it, when she tends to her flowers. She also wears a romance keepsake* on a belt, that contains a lock of Tuilë's hair.
*in my headcanon the keepsake is like those hollow amulets, yknow those old ones that held pictures of loved ones. it just reminded me of them:)
She says goodbye to her hometown and moves to Nel'Vari, where shortly after she meets with the elder, Wesley, Nivara, and then Lucius and Opal, who she's going to work with through the night. Nivara sees everything of course, and asks Chantelle, if it's alright if she told the others what happened and why she moved here. She says yes, because it's easier, and everyone would understand her demeanor towards others. (Chantelle became very silent and almost cold to others but in private she is lovely and adores her flowers, she often talks to them too when she infuses mana into them<3)
People who haven't really seen her yet (because she usually moves through Nel'Vari in the night) and/or younger folks tend to stare a bit at her, but she doesn't really mind. She gives the children little flowers and a glimpse of a smile.
Lucius finds her gestures sweet. After a while, and I mean, A WHILE, he starts questioning himself, and finds himself thinking about her sometimes. He grows fond of her in the span of a year, maybe 2 years. All the little habits she has while they work together guarding the town, he appreciates them all. He acknowledges his emotions about this, after ignoring them for a long time, because he knows he HAS to, even though he has no chance because of the whole celibacy thing. Or he THOUGHT. I mean he just went with respecting her decision and not wanting to disrupt her, while he struggles with his feelings and Opal mercilessly teasing him about it with just a glimpse of her eyes.*
*you know how people can talk with their eyes? Like when you look at someone and they know what you mean? Like a mean look. Ah im over explaining myself.
Anyways, Lucius silently struggles, while Chantelle is totally oblivious because he is hiding it. Some months pass by, she randomly decides to go on a stroll in daylight. Because, why not. It's so depressing to always work at home, even though it's lovely garden work or potion making. She probably wanted to relive the memories of her and her love walking in the sunshine.
She also rarely leaves her home, only on the occasion of patrolling, but, yeah. So she basks in her old memories, while looking through the buildings and people of the past in her mind, when she gets interrupted in her steps all of a sudden. Or, specifically, poor woman almost walked all over a man. Well, until, he stopped and grabbed her.
Chantelle got so surprised by the act, she almost took off her blindfolds just to see what exactly happened. She bumped into Vaan, the local airmage, who has been relaxing by himself and observing the townsfolk as usual. He of course, apologizes and introduces himself, telling her he's fine and she couldn't have known since they haven't even met yet, since, she's usually out at the later hours and etc (he bumbles on about a plethora of things, in his charming little smooth ass tone i hate him and i love him)
Chantelle doesn't wanna interrupt him since Vaan is so deep in his speech, so she just listens to him earnestly. She kinda finds it fascinating but more amusing i guess. After a while he notices of course and in exchange for "wasting her time" he offers to help her on her stroll through the town. She tells her that he doesn't really have to since she has been doing alright herself, but he insists on going with her.
They walk to the blue campfire where Vaan's home is nearby, and they sit down on one of the tree logs. Vaan tries to start small talk after all that silence they went through on the way there, and asks Chantelle about the reason behind wearing her blindfold. She turns her head away for a split second and chuckles in awkwardness; it has been a couple years now that she hasn't been thinking about that day. She was focusing on only the good memories. Vaan stares out into the void in utter disbelief as she tells him everything that happened then.
He tries to play it cool but Chantelle can sense his feelings. She places her hand on his cheek and gives him a flower. (I need to look up what kind of flower because it's for the purpose of expressing her true emotions about the on going situation) Vaan is really confused but thanks the unexpected flower, which makes Chantelle smile. Vaan realizes what happened in the last ~20 minutes, and asks her if he could help her cope or just with anything and she thinks. The silence is deafening for a whole 5 minutes, but after Vaan seemingly gives up on getting any answers, Chantelle grabs his hand. She finally speaks up. She talks, but not so quietly as before. She tells him, "I find your chattering amusing. I find it interesting, and no one really talked to me like that here before." She starts murmuring again, but it's incomprehensible.
Elle grabs his arm, casting a spell, which makes Vaan scared and tries to escape the pull. His thoughts spin around "what if he judged too quickly?" "what if she's evil?" After she finishes, he runs off to his house. Chantelle does the same.
Next day he wakes up and sees his arm has like ink blobs on it? But he hasn't even used ink yesterday! The blobs start to form letters and numbers, that slowly spell out an address. He realizes what is happening and quickly notes it down somewhere, and writes a letter to Elle, and then she sends him a reply, and they start writing back and forth for a while, until Vaan suggests he could show her something and apologize for his behaviour.
Chantelle accepts the invitation and soon it turns out when they meetup that Vaan wanted to try out flying with her, since she has wings, but she hasn't been actually seen flying by anyone. She says she shouldn't try because it's dangerous but Vaan offers to hold her hand while they fly, and she doesn't know how to feel about that. She remembers her vows and everything and she feels flustered. She kindly refuses, but still accepts his company. She goes home, and then as usual goes on her patrol but an unusually stressed Lucius welcomes her. He mentions to her how he saw her and Vaan walking together and how he personally hasn't seen her act like that and he basically rants to her which he hasn't done before, but midway she silences him and whispers, "if i were to quit my vows, would you judge me or accept my decision?"
Lucius is baffled, but cannot say anything else than he'd accept and respect her choice, because... well, he stumbles across words. Chantelle tells him that it's okay, she has been having thoughts about quitting for someone.
She sits down next to him, and cups his cheeks in her hands, leans her forehead against his and says, "I know what you want to tell me. And i can't change it. But i don't know what to say, when you are making it harder than it already is."
After ALL of this, vaguely, Chantelle keeps hanging out with Vaan, finally tries to fly with him, and with time they get closer, while Lucius stares from afar, thinking about how could he make her happier than him.
