So Takeru Satoh was in Singapore to promote his new movie, Bakuman and to meet his overseas fans at SUUPAA JAPAN.
Turns out there were some Malaysians, Taiwanese, Chinese and even Japanese who had come all the way to see him! There were a couple of DJs and traditional dance items (pictured above) before he finally came on stage.
Satoh-san talked about how he experienced different parts of Singapore, like eating chicken rice and going to the beach (!!!), and of course the very hot weather (he had to remove his coat halfway because it was too hot >.<).
He’s also on the reserved side but you can tell he’s really passionate about his acting from the way he prepared for his roles, whether it was a chef, samurai or aspiring manga artist. ^^
And there was a cheeky moment when Satoh-san kind of winked at a fan who wanted to shake his hand... hahaha.
There were a lot of questions about his roles in Rurouni Kenshin and Bakuman. Satoh-san said that the next role he wants to play would be with make-up that would make him unrecognizable to the audience. And that he and Kamiki-san are like brothers acting in two different films together, even though Kamiki-san is his senior in the acting world. He’d also like to try new roles outside manga adaptations.
Ended with Satoh-san taking a group photo with everyone. (try to spot me if you can!) Someone asked him to dance too but he couldn’t, maybe next time! Can’t wait to find out what his next movie is.
