damian wasn’t sure how to do any of this, really. even for all of the manga read, the animes watched that tended to fall into the romance and slice of life categories, they had absolutely no real idea how to go about this. putting such things into real life seemed far more complicated, especially whenever it came to jon. falling back onto something that he was comfortable with seemed the right thing to do with what damian had planned, which was why he was setting down his sketchbook, a page turned to a drawing that had been done of jon. it was detailed -- one where the super appeared to be in the midst of laughter. an image that tended to always stay in their mind even when they weren’t together. 

“you can flip through, if you’d like.” there would be more sketches of jon. different poses, different paused moments that damian had drawn from a snapshot in their mind.

since her kids weren’t coming to her, lois will go to them instead. if that’s how she gets to spend quality time with her kids then so be it. the only one there is jon since kon was out somewhere ( in jon’s exact words: ‘ chasing after a poor waitress in midtown because she’s a blonde ‘ ) but she’s happy to be with just one of her kids at this point. 

❝ hey baby. i thought we could make something. i think you and your brother need food beyond chinese takeout and pizza. ❞ yes she’s here to bond but she’s also worried about their diets. kryptonians ( even half ) have got to keep up with their strength. and takeout is never healthy in the long term. ❝ i know i’m not the greatest chef but ... ❞ grocery bags are placed on the table as she moves around looking for pots and pans. ❝ between you and me, we can probably make... pasta or something. ❞ hand reaches to the side of her face to move her hair. ❝ and it’ll be fun mommy-son bonding time. ❞ she’s teasing but truth be told, she genuinely does miss hanging out with jon.

especially since jor-el snatched 5 years of their life together. ❝ alright. let’s get a pot boiling. and i’ll do this bit. grown-ups near fire after all. ❞ it’s only after she says it that she realises jon is a grown-up. and now she’s thinking about their lost time together. again. she never should have taken that assignment and she never should have let clark talk her into it. ❝ you... you can pour the pasta in. ❞ she forces a big smile on her face. she doesn’t need jon to see anything sad. this is their happy time.

one of these days, michelle was going to actually get enough sleep, and stop spreading herself so thin she got overwhelmed, and not rely so heavily on caffeine. that day wasn’t today. and honestly, it probably wasn’t any day in the foreseeable future, either. which was just as well, because it gave her a good excuse to hang out with jon while he worked. she brought her laptop to get some work done while fueled, because even if she had enough sleep, the stress from her work would carry on her drive for coffee, anyway. “just a black coffee,” she said as she sat down. “how has your day been? looks like it isn’t the busiest i’ve seen.” @supcrson​

“you’re obviously uncultured if you think that is how you’re meant to eat dumplings.” head giving a small shake, damian shifted closer, expertly holding the chopsticks while he procured a dumpling from his own bowl. “i thought you were supposed to be good at this, kent.” brow quirked, playful glint in his eyes, he held out the dumpling towards the super. socially, the action certainly looked romantic, though it was completely lost on damian. to him, it was a normal response to seeing jon not doing what was proper. // @supcrson​

with shield and sword being swamped with new arrivals coming in everyday, they asked emma to help out, especially with the younger ones who either needed some stability or were in a panicked state because they were separated from their parents or both. she was happy to help out for the children’s sake and not because she trusts or believes in both of the organisation. and it seems both shield and sword were fine with having her help out unofficially. so here she is in her office, waiting for the next arrival to come through. not a moment later, the door to her office opens. ❝ come in. ❞ she gets up and grabs the folder from the side table. ❝ you must be my next appointment. mr jonathan kent is it ? ❞
