Superman // Supergirl
So was just jotting down some ideas, and ended up writing a pretty emotional moment between Clark and Kara which actually made me tearful.
Here’s a snippet———-
“I remember the dome," Kara whispered, her voice cracking. "I remember the final months on Argo, and the barrier starting to fail- the kryptonite seeping in.”
Clark reached out, gently resting his hand over hers. “Kara, you don't have to talk about this if it hurts too much?” He assured her softly.”
No, I do," she shook her head, tears welling up in her eyes. "The worst part wasn't just losing our world. It was... it was that no one could leave. My father built the pod from your father’s plans, Kal. No one else had that knowledge and Jor-El had died. My mother was dead and now father too was dying. He knew the ship could only hold one person. He stayed behind so that I could live. But..." her voice broke, a sob tearing through her chest. “I had to leave friends. Leave other families who were trapped as I had been. They were so ill, their coughing was getting worse and people were choking on their own blood- dying slow, agonising deaths in the streets while I was told to have hope. The pod roof shut, and I watched my father from afar. I abandoned him."
Tears streamed down her face, her shoulders shaking with an overwhelming grief brought on by recalling the loss of her home. Clark didn't hesitate a moment more. He pulled his cousin into his arms, tucking her tightly against his chest and wrapped his arms around her.
"You didn't abandon him, Kara," Clark murmured, but his voice wavered with slight emotion as he rested his cheek against her hair. "He wanted you to live, and every single day that you do, you honor your parents by being here."
More will be on A03 at some point 🥹
