Polished Gold
We were wild and young and the summer was at it's prime, just like us.
Our bare feet lightly dusted with the dirt on the ground had traveled us far into the busy, breathing woods.
We reach a meadow - lush with black eyed susan's, wheat and sage.
In the middle of the meadow sat her and I - taking in the ecstasy of nature our Mother Earth so graciously spoils us with.
A bumble bee buzzes by as her and I stick flowers in our hair.
In the yellow orange light of the sun, the flowers and wheat glisten gold in it's presence - but all in the meadow couldn't amount to the beauty that was held in the colors that flowed from Emily's beautiful, honey color hair. If real gold tarnished, the meadow was just that - as she was polished gold.
A gust of wind carried the sweet, earthy aroma of sage in the air and swirled around us in a warm embrace. We looked up simultaneously and giggled. We could hear the sighs from the God's above, dreamily looking down at us.
They had all the riches the Universe could contain - but none that could compare to the beauty and shine of her and I.
Placing our hands in one anothers, chanting to the Heavens, "Forever giving, forever pure - How grateful we are for your gift of life and for a soul that shines alongside the golden warmth of the sun."
We're two Goddess' with a spirit that burns for eternity.
