Just a sketch but it's been whacking in my head for a while.
I think it would be a good exercise to get your favorite character (fuyuhiko in this case) and think of what kind of unique expressions they give to each of their friends.
It makes you really think about their relationship to everyone else.
It teaches you there's different degrees of an emotion. Like Fuyuhiko would be irritated with Twogami and Teruteru but it's vastly different. At Twogami it's more of "You think you're better than me MF?" and at Teruteru it's "I swear to god I'll rip your dick off MF".
Even subtle expressions toward Kazuichi and Gundham. They're both supposed to be skeptical but it's different levels of "I can't believe you're doing this. What the fuck."
You think Fuyuhiko would be angry at Hiyoko and Mahiru? Make two different ways of being mad. He would have a shouting match with Hiyoko but it's with Mahiru there's more snarls and sneer remarks.
I emphasize 'unique expressions that's that specific friend can bring out'. I'm not trying to say Fuyuhiko only smiles at Hajime or is always smiling with Hajime - More like, Hajime has the highest probability of seeing Fuyuhiko's smile.
BTW for the Fuyuhiko box, Fuyuhiko is just seeing himself in the mirror bc that's the only time Fuyuhiko can really see himself. So he's brushing his teeth.
Anyways take this as you will.
Diver Sameko's first contact with the seafolk will be the moment when she saves small Natsu from a trap while her older brother watches her very closely.
I imagine the siblings as lionfishs, so Sameko is super aware of their poison and keeps her distance while she is on her rescue task.
Focus Sameko! You can panic later and try to figure out what you just saw! SEAFOLK HAIKYUU LET'S GO!
After she got back to the surface
After the entcounter with the lionfish mermaids Sameko had to figure out what she just discovered. There are mermaids...right in front of her brothers restaurant.
She still can't believe they really exist and struggles to tell someone - even her brother.
