Forgive me father for I have made an unnecessary purchase.
Jughead and Archie imagine Betty as a superhero in Super Summer, Archie Comics Digest #265 (2010).
Ep 6. Kibum and Donghae go on their ‘male couple’ date and there’s a lot of no homo going on - they refuse to drink whilst embracing and say that it’s weird, etc etc. In a rather telling moment, the MC says to Kibum that he’s really enjoying this ‘as you and Donghae are much closer than Donghae and Siwon are!!’ I KNEW that I wasn’t seeing things in Full House!
They race each other with go-karts and Kibum narrowly escapes a pretty bad accident, whilst his go-kart is ruined. From the looks of things he was REALLY, really lucky - it could have killed him. He talks about it with a smile in the third screenshot, but you can tell that he’s pretty frazzled.
Also, is it just me or does Kibum in the last picture look a lot like Tiffany from SNSD, pre debut?
Ep 6-7. The gang goes scuba diving, and I never thought I’d ever say this about people wearing scuba suits, but HELLO HAWTIE. Seriously, Kibum, Donghae and Siwon, ESPECIALLY Siwon, look sooooooooo good without all the makeup and hair gel and other gunk they usually slather on. They look like a bunch of university students (which they are, age-wise) out for a dip in the ocean. Kibum and Donghae have always been baby-faced, but I can’t get over how freshly handsome Siwon looks. Neat as a pin, as they say.
Poor Siwon is close to tears.
Ep 4. This is the mean thing we were talking about. First that Saipan girl tried, and succeeded, in getting Kibum’s attention. Eunjung is quite upset. Then the MC, Eunjung and Donghae play a rather cruel trick to make Siwon think that Eunjung likes Siwon, and Donghae pretends to get mad at Siwon.
Nighttime again, when Eunjung has to pick the guy she wants to date. At this point both Kibum and Donghae have gone on solo dates with her, and it kind of makes sense that it should be Siwon this time, but things are never that easy. Eunjung, possibly spurred on by the fact that Kibum seems rather impressed with the Saipan girl, picks Kibum again (though who can blame her, he’s SOOO gorgeous). Siwon, who was honestly expecting the winner to be himself, is crushed, and he almost breaks down. Meanwhile, Kibum is floored. He’s speechless with astonishment, but then the moment sinks in and he smiles.
I still don’t think he fancies Eunjung but he does enjoy the attention.
Ep 5. Eunjung and Kibum go on their date. Kibum talks a bit about how surprised he was that Eunjung picked him for a second date, and Eunjung goes on about how Kibum is the one who talks to her the most (huh? when did this happen?) and how the two of them understand each other. Rofl. She’s obviously psyched for the date, but then the Saipan girl shows up. The MC has instructed her to join the two of them on a sandwich date, and he orders Kibum to hold both of their hands, which Kibum does. The three of them, looking rather foolish, walk off hand in hand, with Kibum uncomfortably stuck in the middle. Eunjung is quite annoyed. Kibum’s torn between feeling flattered by the attention, and the sheer awkwardness of it all. Meanwhile I won’t find out how the Saipan girl feels or what happens, not until the commute tomorrow. What a time to be alive.
Kibum is RIDICULOUSLY cute. I don’t know what it is about him but he’s very, very easy on the eyes, and gets better with each viewing. Again, I know I’ve said this before but Jaejoong does NOT hold up to multiple viewings. You get tired of seeing Jaejoong’s face after some time and I’m not entirely sure why. I guess it’s got something to do with the fact that he looks like a sex doll™? No that’s not it either. Ever since he left DBSK he’s all but consigned the Jaejoong Sex Doll™ look to the back drawer, but there’s still something about him that’s almost sickly sweet. I dunno. He just looks too perfect, I suppose. He looks like someone out of Final Fantasy. Caelum.
Kibum on the other hand... gahh. Those chubby cherubic cheeks and that dazzling smile that could light up an entire town, and those vests.
Siwon complains that Kibum is a tsundere, an archetype that appears in Japanese mangas. Siwon even explicitly states that Kibum is taking a page from Japanese mangas, - “He’s copying them! The girls ALWAYS go for the cold aloof guys!” Kibum roars with laughter, showing those pearly whites of his once more.
Eunjung falls into the sea with a scream, and Donghae, without a second thought, launches himself into the water immediately to rescue her, with Siwon hot on his heels. Kibum watches them. He’s REALLY not into her.
Afterwards, Eunjung and the MC come up with a plan to try to get Kibum to open up. Eunjung pretends that she has an overbearing boyfriend, and cries. Kibum is at a loss. Eunjung suggests that she break up with her (fictional) boyfriend, and Kibum immediately talks her out of it. He then shares how he was always the guy that got dumped, as he never really tried hard enough. “It did make me miserable, though,” he admits.
Today, Eunjung chooses Donghae as her exclusive date, to no one’s surprise, whilst Kibum and Siwon go off on their ‘men’s date.’ Kibum seems relieved and Siwon’s just resigned.
