Over the past 30 years, the location where tropical cyclones reach maximum intensity has been shifting toward the poles in both the northern and southern hemispheres at a rate of about 35 miles, or one-half a degree of latitude, per decade according to a new study…published in Nature.

I should mention why my family is pretty calm about this hurricane...
The thing is… we’re Filipino.
Even though I moved here in the US when I was 8, I have experienced super typhoons that flood our house waist deep. At that time, it would’ve been past my shoulders, if not past my head. I would have to be placed in a huge wok/pot/bucket for laundry (batya), so I can use it as my boat while I float around in our house.
This is why 5”-7” “floods” are NOTHING. Chill out. You guys can swim, right?
I think it's the wind that we have to be most worried about, though. I'm not at all undermining this hurricane. I'm just saying that people shouldn't be that afraid of a pool of water.
With that said, everyone stay safe. Please stay indoors. Two people have already died by being outside here in my area.
