day 1: kryptonite

So, there WAS a reason for my recent posts on Injustice 2...I’ve been re-playing for “research”, haha. I wrote my first ever SuperBat, and it features the viewpoint of evil!Clark from the “bad” ending. Obviously, I had to stick Jason in the mix, and the result is a NC-17 fic that’s fucked-up even for my standards.

Incidentally, I really enjoy Jason’s position between Bruce and Clark on the character selection screen, to represent his neutral stance from the factions. He’s also, like, front and center.

And that caption from Jason’s ending, “With the invasion over, Bruce and Superman started fighting again,” sums up the premise of the fic pretty well.

Here’s a blurb:

Clark has never seen his son. He died before he was born, vaporized along with the rest of Metropolis. Yet, he was a father the moment he found out that Lois was pregnant. The death of both Lois and the child devastated him equally.

He does wonder, though, does it hurt more when a child dies without the opportunity to grow up? Or does it hurt more to watch them grow up before you, learn from you, be their own stubborn person with their own quirks, then watch them die?

Bruce Wayne doesn't like to be touched that much but he understands Clark's need to reassure himself that all is alright after a rough patrol. Clark really likes to touch Bruce's hair and all he cares about is he can do it one more night.
