This a bit of a different post than I usually do, but I've been having a tough time getting my game to work lately ://// so all my Super Collection Mac players this is for you!!! (All 5 of us, probably)
I've been struggling with adding a university to my custom neighbourhood. Every single edit I made would vanish whenever I exited the subhood (I lost a whole dorm build :')))), and the culprit was of course the Mac file limit.
To avoid this kind of corruption in normal gameplay I always to the following:
Delete all .png/.txt/sub files included in cc I download. Only keep the .package file.
Keep the neighbourhoods I'm not playing on my desktop rather than in the 'Neighborhoods' folder.
Always. And I mean ALWAYS. Back. Up. Your. Save. Every time I finish playing, even if I only played for a few minutes, I always save a backup. (This saved Balmiea like 3 times already lol)
BUT sometimes this isn't always enough. I highly recommend following muridae's guide on how to increase your mac's file limit.
I might be 8 years late to this but I mean I just found out how to do it so who's to say someone else doesn't need to know!
