What's your opinion on Enerjak's visual design? I, as someone that likes ancient Egyptian motifs, find it stylin'.

I like Enerjak’s design. For all the characters that leaned more heavily into fantasy elements in the early years of Archie Sonic, Enerjak probably has one of the cooler designs (even if the artists back then didn’t always know what to do with his mouth). His Egyptian motif might seem a little random within the context of Ken’s echidna canon, but Sandopolis Zone has an Ancient Egypt motif for whatever reason, so it kind of fits

With a few tweaks he works out really well in Tracy’s art style. He kinda blends right in with some of the non-Eggman antagonists we got in the 3D Sonic games

The art in IDW Sonic #31 looks weird. Like, several panels look like the guy posed 3D models of the characters and traced over them, like the big zoom-in on Shadow.

Sorry but I can’t agree with this in the slightest. ABT’s a great artist and easily one of the best in the history of the franchise. The characters and environments look three dimensional because he’s good at conveying volume and depth, even in 2D. This is a level of skill that takes years of practice to hone and it’s worthy of praise

On the sprite comics question: A lot of Chrono Trigger backgrounds and its own site suggests to me "Captain SNES" (or at least its first act). Think that's it?

This MIGHT be it. It seems kinda familiar, at least. I remember it having a mix of characters from different games, a vertical page layout, a dark website, and somewhat fancier speech bubbles, and this ticks all of those boxes

Also holy shit, this comic is still going??? The last update was just under a month ago, what the fuck. That’s dedication
