Luthor trapping Superman and injecting him with truth serum to be able to get more information about him, reveal his fortress location, reveal more weaknesses, etc etc

So he live streams the act, to show superiority and a record for everyone to hear his secrets

But ofc he wants to play a bit before going down to business

He wants to boost his ego, be the man who Superman, the heart of gold, hates

So he asked him “who is the person you despise more” smiling knowing the HE will be the answer

Superman close tight his lips, not wanting to shit talk about anyone but the serum is too strong

“Booster gold”

And with that the world freezes, the comments on the live stream are confused, spamming “who??”

“Isn’t he like… your coworker in the league?” Luthor asked more confused than anything, he did his research on everything about Superman and that includes the league

But he is just a random nobody, if anyone wasn’t so dedicated in their investigation they might not know him

“He is such a jerk!” And with that a stream of insults comes out from his mouth, boosted by the serum “I did label that sandwich with my name and then I just found him eating it! Are you fr?!”

Booster gold ofc is watching the stream with the league mid mission in rescuing Superman to prevent leak of information

He doesn’t know how to feel

In one way, Superman noticed him, HIM!!

In other, should I really celebrate this kind of attention? The answer is yes because not even luthor, his nemesis, the guy who literally just drug him, provoked this hate from Superman

But still it kinda hurts, man, like that guy is unable of hate but still made an exception for him

Booster's eye in the bottom panel just says "omg my childhood hero saved me and like, doesn't want me to go flying off into the sky forever." Like his hero saved him, and that looks like such a special moment for him, it's so sweet I wish Booster didn't get his forcefield up in time so Superman would have to pay more attention to his wellbeing than just grabbing at him (though that's also awesome).

Something something about how one of the most kind/meaningful interactions of your life is just another guy's Tuesday after his interview got interupted cause your team couldn't handle fucking Doomsday alone

Also, Beetle, like most superheroes, looks better beaten to shit and near death, and Grief and Anger eternally look good on Booster. (same issue)

i think booster gold should be allowed to go bananas at everyone for not noticing that he was POSSESSED BY DARKSEID. can you imagine being stuck in your own body and puppeted by someone trying to kill all your friends. booster gold does nothing but suffer.

For my superbooster/supergold warriors: I highly recommend Booster Gold vol. 1 issues 6 & 7. They're the issues where Booster and Superman meet for the very first time ever, and it established the baseline of their entire relationship. They also have a really good story, a very worthwhile read imo
