Legacies Girls x Character Complexes
Depression
There is a nightmare we suffer but can not wake from. A fear that we’ll never measure up. Claustrophobia setting in regardless of where we are because the walls in our mind is closing in on us. Not sure if you want to cry or vomit or shake and rock back and forth. Sometimes the medicine helps but sometimes the bad days still come. Some of us live in a world of self harm but some of us just never feel adequate enough, like we can never do anything right. You on the other side see us and know it is illogical, so do we but it’s brain chemistry. You think we want to feel this way? You think we want to hurt so badly and so often? We all have our scars we carry whether physical or emotional.
HERMIONE IS SO ON POINT! THERE ARE SO MANY OTHER OPTIONS THAN JUST RUNNING OFF TO THE DEPARTMENT OF MYSTERIES. Harry and his stupid superman complex.
Self-Deprecation
Superman's Suicide
At the heart of every person with a superman complex is a tortured human being who struggles with crippling self-doubt and the need to lie about every small failure in order to stay in the favor of their social spheres. When they fail, they feel as though they have fallen a thousand miles. To them, it's a crushing blow to see the looks of dissatisfaction on the faces of others or to hear "You let me down." They can't stand underneath their own self-inflicted responsibility. They take on more than they know they can deal with because they don't want to have to deal with people asking why they can't take on one more small project. They nod when they see that mountain of small projects because they don't want to be blamed for not being able to shoulder one small thing. They ask people if they can help all the time, wishing only that they would be asked the same question. To ask for help is a grave misstep to them, a sundering of the trust others have placed in them.
And why do they do this to themselves? Because they seek favor. They want to be loved, but they feel they have to earn that love first. They can't understand receiving love in the same way they give it. They cry silently because they don't want to trouble anybody to come hug them or pat them on the shoulder. They mask their fear and sorrow because they don't want to put that responsibility on someone else. They can't show their own weakness because they feel that they are a pillar under which others rest, and who really wants to rest under a broken pillar? Superman doesn't exist, not because intelligent life avoids the earth like a plague, but because if he did exist he would have killed himself a long time ago.
Hypersexuality. Apatheism. Superman Complex. ADD. I'm learning so many new words that describe me! Score!
I feel like I have the Superman Complex
Not necessarily that I can do the job better than others, or that I'm invincible and all that jazz but that I need to save everyone, especially from unhappiness. I feel like it's my responsibility to keep everyone happy and everyone smiling, even if it's at the cost of my own happiness and sanity. To be there for others, through thick and thin, through storm or fire, no matter what. To help them with anything they need. You can understand, how that can make someone feel...very stretched out
minsan kasi kapag naapektuhan ng “superman complex” ang isang tao, lahat gustong iligtas, lahat gustong ayusin. hirap lang e di lahat ng tao aware na nahihirapan ka rin.
