Last night, my wife and I drove about two hours to the Belcourt Theatre for the free Nashville premiere screening of Brett Culp's documentary, "Look to the Sky". Having already seen his inspirational 2013 "Legends of the Knight" documentary (if you haven't seen it, you need to), writing an article about it and loving it, I eagerly awaited the release of "Look to the Sky" and the message of hope it would bring. I didn't wait in vain. The film was so inspirational and filled with hope that it brought several people, including my wife and I, to tears. There are so many people, especially young people, in the world who are proving each and every day, as they overcome obstacles and challenges in life, that they have the qualities, characteristics, hopes and moral integrity of the superhero Superman. They are proving each and every day that Superman is real through their selfless acts, their strength, their compassion, their courage and their never-ending persistence and determination. But, without the incredible, faithful and talented Brett Culp, these tales of hope and inspiration would never have reached the number of people it has this month. As Brett said last night following the film, our gifts are not for us. They are to be shared with others. That's why Superman is one of my favorite superheroes. He has all of those powers and could do anything he wanted. He could have become a superstar athlete, a world famous doctor or any other number of things. But, he chose to use his superpowers, his gifts and abilities to help others, not for thanks, praise or recognition, but because it was the right thing to do. The same can be said for Brett. He's using his God-given talents and abilities to not only share tales of hope and inspiration, but to inspire others to be heroes, just like Superman. If you get a chance to see this amazing film of hope, please do. Even if it takes several hours to get to the venue. If there are any charities, church groups, schools or other groups that would like to screen the film, visit www.risinghero.org. Brett, May God continue to bless you and your family as you continue to share your gifts with the world. #SupermanIsReal
