Let me know if you loved it!
At 26 you thought you had a pretty good life, you lived in a two-bedroom loft with no roommates because you hated most people. You worked for a high profiled magazine-Enter- ‘TAIN’ ME Weekly. You were a lifestyle journalist. You took no shit from anyone and if they wanted to mess with you, you fucked them up severally.
You partied all weekends and Monday mornings were hard, but you always worked for Fridays. You were perfectly content in life. You were successful at work, you had friends with benefits. What more could you ever want in life?
You walked into work on Monday morning to find out that life wouldn’t be the same. You put your headphones in, grabbed a couple snack bags of chips, a diet soda from the fridge, and once seated at your desk, you slid your shoes off, turned on your laptop and began your morning breakfast. You looked over at Jeni, another “Article Author” as your dumbass boss/ editor, Rachel, called all of you.
“So, have you heard yet?” she grinned at you. You pulled out your left headphone and shook your head as you took a drink. “Whats going on? Don’t tell me, Matt Damon got ANOTHER outer space movie???” you asked in the fake excited yet also extremely sarcastic voice you do. Jeni laughed shaking her head some. “No, apparently two new guys are starting here as interns, and they’re being put here on the 12th floor with us!” she grinned clapping her hands. You groaned, you hated interns. Partly because of how stupid they could be, the other half was because you were an intern once and it was when life was so much easier.
“Grooosssss keep them away from me. I’m busy,” you said pulling up your article and continuing to work on it. “Oh My God.” She said in a softer tone with a dead ass seriousness to it. You looked at her before seeing her staring off toward the glass doors. Following her line of vision, you looked over and rolled your eyes. You knew exactly who these two guys were.
Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki.
What the fuck were they doing here?
“Jesus, please I’ll go to church every fucking weekend, I’ll do ANYTHING, please Jesus.” Jeni pleaded softly. You scrunched your face looking up at her. “Gross. I have to get back to work. Leave me alone now,” you said putting your headphones back in.
Unknown to you though, partly thanks to the headphones, Rachel had walked in with the guys and was talking about exactly why they were here. You were the only one not paying attention to her little speech and she noticed almost instantly. “Jay,” she smiled at Jensen, “I’m gonna place you with our top sports girl,” she said walking around the room as everyone got back to work. “Jeni Woods, this is Jensen Ackles, I thought he’d be a good intern for you.” Rachel smiled as Jeni stood calmly from her chair and shook his hand, though inside she was screaming her lungs out, she got Jensen set up at her desk and they began talking about what exactly she does.
Rachel saw you still typing away eating your chips and listening to music and began to head towards you. “Now Jared I’m placing you with our lifestyle girl. She’s a bit…. well you just gotta get to know her. But I promise, this is more of a punishment for her than it is for you. See Y/N doesn’t like listening to me, she believes that it’s her piece of the magazine and no one should have a say in what she writes.” Rachel fake laughed “She’s a trooper!” she continued to laugh some “But she hates interns, I mean cannot stand them. So…you’re gonna be her intern and hopefully some of your dashing personality rubs off on her.” She grinned and stopped by your chair; you knew she was there you could sense it. But you weren’t about to give her the time of day. Suddenly, your left headphone was yanked out. You instantly stopped typing and stared at your screen for a minute before turning your chair and facing her. “Yes Rachel, whatever can I do for you this morning?” you grinned brightly at her.
Rachel gave you a forced smile, “Good morning Y/N, great news!! I’ve seen all the hard work you’ve done so as a reward I’m giving you your very own intern!!” she clapped, everyone else around the office looked with wide eyes and concerned features. “Nah, I’m good, I’m not some lazy top-notch bitch who needs an errand boy to fetch my shit for me. Thanks though.” You put your headphone back in and went back to work. Rachel, again pulled the headphone out, “Nonsense. You’ve got an intern, so teach him what it’s like to be a journalist. Or your fired.” She grinned mumbling the last part for just you and her to hear.
Huffing you stood and faced her, she wore a skin tight cream colored dress with thigh high black velvet boots. You smiled and nodded turning her around so you could whisper some. “You know you’re right Rachel, I’ve busted my ass for years, it’s time I got rewarded.” You put your hand on her back rubbing it some and smiled. “Thank you, you’ve just made my day.” You patted her back and turned back to the tall man as Rachel smirked and walked away. The cheese smears from your Doritos stained the back of her dress. Everyone saw as she walked back toward her office, laughing hysterically.
“Your ass is fired.” Jason, a tall, surfer type man laughed as he leaned back in his chair. “Please, she wishes she could fire me. She doesn’t have the power.” You said sitting back in your chair and beginning to eat on your chips again. “um, is…is that your breakfast?” your new intern asked as he pulled up a chair and sat beside you. You looked at him, “Look…………what’s your name again?” you asked him. He smiled extending his hand. “I’m Jared Pada-,”
“That was rhetorical, I don’t give a shit what your name is Jared Padalecki. I write lifestyle articles for a two-brain celled bitch named Rachel, I know who you are. I know you’re here because Rachel begged her daddy, Robert Singer, to have you and him intern here in exchange for two sperate cover stories on the both of you and also you both get $25k a piece.”
Jared stared in shock at you, they’d been told no one would ever know. You smirked turning back to your laptop. “Yes, this is my breakfast. You’re more than welcome to some in the breakroom.” You said after a minute. “That’s not very healthy.” He said quietly as you chuckled, “Wait until we go out on assignment together.” You smirked to yourself typing again. This might not be such a bad thing, having an intern and all.

Summary: A Fling that has reached it’s end has everyone missing what you and Jared brought to the table. But is it just your friends that are missing the fun?
Friday night. The one night a week where everyone got together to exchange fun stories and just let loose.
The cast chose the same bar every week, but it worked out in their favor, for the owner got to know them all pretty well and even gave them their own room to gather in, near the back.
It was a hole in the wall place that felt homey and safe, even with some random lights burnt out here and there. This made them all feel at home just as much as the set did. Maybe it was just the people, but deep down everyone knew this place was just as great.
Jared could hear the rowdy crowd as he moved through the bar, picking out Jensen’s laugh and even Misha’s voice as it echoed through the place.
Locking eyes with one of the bartenders, he gave them a soft smile and a nod, earning one in return as their usual silent greeting. Same place, same routine, and yet tonight, there was something different.
One person was missing, and that’s all it took. The ghost of that one person made this feel like a completely different place.
You moved through the bar and grill, letting your eyes scan over every table. Sooner or later you knew that at least one face would look familiar, you just had to keep looking. If this was the original spot with your original Friday night group, you’d know exactly where to go. But it wasn’t. It was all new now, and a few of your good friends are the ones who chose this place.
It was nice. Cozy. But no doubt, different.
A few more feet in and you spotted them. Your rowdy crew of gals that were already laughing and having a great time. One of them locked eyes with you and called out your name, getting the attention of the others, and when they saw you, they all cheered, making your smile grow even more as you joined them at the table.
“I got your usual.” your best friend, Sarah whispered as you took a seat next to her, her delicate fingers sliding your drink closer to you.
Then one of your other friends, that clearly had been there for a while and had already consumed a few drinks, raised her class, and with a few obnoxious phrases, she got the rest of you to join in her random toast.
“To us! The best and hottest group of women in Vancouver. Or wherever we step foot.” Everyone giggled, your slightly drunk friend making you all roll your eyes at her intoxicated toast. “We don’t need anyone else for us to have fun!” You tried to smile to the best of your ability knowing that, that comment was directed at you, and it wasn’t in a bad way. But you used to come as a two man team. That was gone now and you knew they were all feeling it.
As everyone else pushed their glasses towards the middle of the table so they could kiss each other, you joined, and then your smile grew more as a few of them yelled.
“Cheers!”
“So, Jared....how are you?” Jared looked over his bottle and across the table towards Richard, his question causing all eyes to go to the tall, shaggy haired man.
That’s one question that everyone at that table has asked him at least twice. ‘how are you?’. But he knew what they were really asking him. They wanted to know where she’s been. Why wasn’t she with him? And though they all had to have known deep down, it seemed they wanted him to come out and say it so they were certain. But he just couldn’t do it.
He could read between all of the lines. The secret messages in all of their questions and even their stares, but he just pushed them aside.
“I’m good.” he nodded, a content smile on his face as he glanced around the table, his hand bringing the beer bottle back to the wood surface.
“Yeah?” Rob was the next to ask, making a nervous chuckle bubble up and out of his chest.
“Yes. I’m great, guys. Really.” With that, the table of men seemed to eye each other as if they were asking each other whether or not his answer was good enough to let slide. But as Jensen picked up the silence and jumped on a different topic, Jared sighed softly in his chair and brought his beer back up, taking a longer sip this time.
As the table took Jensen’s topic and ran with it, Jensen then took a sip of his drink as well, his eyes roaming towards his costar next to him as he pulled it away again. Jared met his gaze, his forced smile falling slightly when he could read Jensen’s expression. Their silent conversations they had, at work again as they looked at each other.
Jensen didn’t know the truth about what had happened, but he knew that there was only one reason why it was only Jared sitting at this table and not her too. Especially when just one week ago, it seemed as if she was a permanent member of the crew.
“And then you just saw his face change. Sudden pain filling....everything.”
“It wasn’t like that.” Jared interrupted, shaking his head at Jensen across the table while everyone else listened to the old set story. You had a soft grin on your face as you looked over your right shoulder, Jared shaking his head even more when he looked at you.
His left hand squeezed your waist when he leaned forward to grab a chip from the basket on the table, keeping you steady on his lap. In turn, you carefully draped your right arm around his neck, your fingers running along his opposite shoulder as you held onto the man.
“Oh, yes it was!” Jensen objected, chuckling a little as he took a quick sip of his beer. “Dude, when you landed, I could tell by the look on your face that something was wrong.”
“And that’s how you broke your wrist?” Jared looked a little embarrassed, but he nodded at your question anyway.
“Yep. So then he had that cast on for the next seven weeks. Made me do all type of shit for him..”
“I did not!” The whole table laughed at the playful bickering, both men smiling and unable to act like they were irritated.
As Misha started up another set story, Jensen looked over at the two of you, seeing Jared turn and place a kiss to your shoulder and his grasp on you tightening a little more.
There was plenty of room to add another chair to the table, but he didn’t say anything, seeing that Jared would clearly rather have you in his lap than in a chair of your own. And honestly, he couldn’t help but enjoy seeing his best friend so happy.
The girls went on and on about stuff. Anything that came up. Work. Shopping. Guys. Movies. And your head was in some of it. But for a lot of it, your mind wandered.
You missed his touch. His smile. His kisses. But you swore to yourself that you did the right thing, because when all of this first started, you both agreed that it wasn’t anything serious. It was just a hot fling and only the two of you and your friends would know.
You both kept the media and press out of it. How? You don’t know, but you both seemed to have pulled it off.
But then, you went and let your mind and body change everything. So, just as fast as it started, it ended, and you only had yourself to blame. He didn’t do anything wrong.
Sarah saw how you kept leaving the conversation and she let you, knowing that you had to have your moments. But every once in a while she would lay her hand over yours and smile at you when you looked up.
You hated yourself. Why did you have to go and ruin everything?
“You doing alright?” Jensen asked as he followed Jared into his apartment, shutting the door behind him. As Jared turned back, the familiar annoyed look was staring back at Jensen, making him sigh and toss his hands up a little as a ‘sorry, couldn’t help it’ kinda thing.
Letting it go, knowing his friend is only worried about him, he continued into the kitchen, Jensen right behind him as he went for the cupboard to get a glass for some water.
“What happened?” Jared didn’t answer right away. Instead, he continued on his journey of getting water and Jensen just waited, knowing that he heard him and he would answer if he wanted to.
Once his glass was full, Jared took a long drink, downing at least half the glass before going to top it off and then lean against the bar that Jensen was currently leaning on, only on the opposite side.
“I....I honestly don’t know.” Confused, Jensen just continued to look across to his friend, hoping he would clarify. And he did.
“I....Everything was great. I mean, you saw us, we were inseparable.” Jensen nodded, his eyes slightly widened as he chuckled softly. “But, Saturday, when I went to pick her up for dinner.....something was different.”
“Hey! You ready to go?” Jared twirled his keys around his finger, a huge grin on his face when he saw you get up from the couch.
After you buzzed him into your apartment building, you propped your door open so he could just come in. But when you got up from your seat and turned to face him, his once excited smile, fell. You looked uncomfortable. Lost even. You just didn’t look like someone who was excited to go out.
“What’s wrong?” Clenching his keys in his hand, he stopped them from jingling as he moved closer to you, his free hand sliding up your arm as his fist rested against the other. “Are you okay?”
No answer. You didn’t shake your head or even nod. There was no hum or grunt. Just your eyes staring down near his chest and your teeth sliding against your bottom lip.
“I can’t do this anymore.” you finally whispered, but you still hadn’t moved.
“What? Go out?” he could barely see you swallow and instead of waiting on your answer, he jumped at the opportunity to ease your worries. “That’s okay. We can stay in. Order something, maybe rent a movie...” But as he started naming off things that the two of you could do on a date night in, your head slowly began to shake back and forth.
“No. Not that.” Slowly, you brought your head up, barely meeting his eyes and it tore at him when he saw the light glossiness to them. “Us.” He took the hit. A blow to the gut that took all the wind out of him. He couldn’t move. He couldn’t breathe. He couldn’t think straight.
“W-what?”
“I don’t think what we’re doing is a good idea anymore. I think we should stop.” Jared’s hands fell from you as he took a step back, his eyes roaming over you as if you weren’t the woman he’s been with for the past two months and he walked into the wrong apartment.
“W-w.....Where is this coming from?” A shaky breath was all that came out of you at first.
“It’s coming from the fact that...I don’t think we should do it anymore. It’s been two months, it’s been fun. But...soon, people are going to notice and it’s just going to get complicated.”
“Y/N...no one is going to notice.”
“Yes! They will, Jared. It’s only a matter of time.” He was hurt and taken off guard, just like you knew he would be. “We’re just a fling and, I think we’ve had a really good run.”
“Wait a minute....” his hand up, Jared took that pause to take in a deep breath. “So...are you saying you want to end this because you think our fling has reached an end, or are you just trying to let me down easy and what you’re really saying is that you’re done with me?” he watched as your throat seemed to constrict, clearly fighting yourself on answering him.
“Wow.”
“Jared....”
“No.” Tossing his hand up again, he took a few more steps back. “It’s fine. You want it to be over, it’s over.”
“Y/N?” Sarah’s voice wasn’t enough, but as soon as her hand came down on yours, you snapped out of it. Looking up at her, you quickly saw the concern all over her face.
“Are you okay?” she was genuinely concerned. Almost as if you were scratching your eyes out or bleeding out in front of her. But then you felt it. The tear.
Reaching up, you slid your fingers across your cheek and felt the wetness get dragged along with it. You were crying.
“Yeah.” you breathed, forcing a smile to everyone at the table. “Yeah, I’m good. I’m just uh....I’m going to go to the bathroom real quick.”
You moved through the restaurant as swiftly as possible without drawing too much attention to yourself and then pushed yourself into the woman’s restroom. Dipping down, you took a quick scan to see if anyone else was in there with you and when you saw that you were in the clear, you fell against the counter.
Looking into the mirror, you saw another tear slowly escape your eye and slide down your cheek, but you stopped it with a rough wipe. Though there were no more to be wiped away, you ran both hands over your face a few more times before turning on the faucet and splashing yourself with the cold water.
The tall, shaggy haired actor was not leaving your thoughts and it was beginning to drive you a little nuts.
Of course you didn’t end it with him because you were tired of him. Who could ever be tired of him? And of course you didn’t end it because you thought the fling had run it’s course. You ended it because you broke the flings rules.
Just sex, talking and comfort, no hardcore feelings. But you were definitely getting feelings for the actor.
But it was clear to you now, that the fact that you were silently crying in front of your friends, you weren’t falling for Jared Padalecki.
No.
You had already fallen.
What’d you think? Let me know! Thanks for reading! Love you all!
I don't care if you blindly stand by Jared, are concerned, disappointed, are rightly constructively criticising him or holding him accountable for his actions. I think it's absolutely disgusting that the majority of this fandom are more concerned about Jared being ok than the wellbeing of the people who got assaulted, and I'm not saying don't be concerned for Jared, be concerned for him, but show some empathy, support and compassion for those 2/3 people who got assaulted.
Update: I read that one of the victims has a 1.5 inch cut above his eyebrow...I hope he's doing well and is recovering 💙
Anyone else ever feel the overpowering need to touch Jared's hair, immediately followed by the feeling you'd get your arm chopped off for such an offence?
my bros all like upset and offended bc he rlly loves dean and cass and he wants to look like them and hes like “but i look like sam :(“ and im like you ass you dont think sam/jared is hot af lemme prove you wrong
After all those he was like fuck your right he is hot and im like YEAH BRUH
I'm still a little weary on if I should post this or not, but let me just say... Jared is the most beautiful human being I have ever met, and he needs to be protected at all costs. If you want to hear the story, let me know! I'll be happy to share! If you use, please tag me! Thanks!
