~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Dean sits in the waiting room with his brother on one side and a table full of magazines that talked about every type of health problem on the other. It had been about an hour since they first brought (Name) in and they had yet to hear anything. It was wearing his nerves out.
“Hey Nat just sent me a text, she’s on her way. Steve’s gonna stop by the bunker and check on Bucky and Becky.” Sam says sliding his cell phone into his coat pocket.
“Okay,” Dean says as he runs his hands down his face. He still couldn’t fight the feeling that it was his fault.
“She also said that she wants to move her to a secret location, for her own protection.”
“Yeah, Okay.” Dean says through his hands.
“Dean, it’s not your fault.”
“Sammy, not now!” Dean says as he pushes himself from his seat and walks out of the waiting room to the nearest vending machine. As he walked through the hall he bumped into some woman with bleach blonde hair and eyes so brown they almost looked black. “Excuse me,” He says and she offers him a soft smile before walking back off toward the emergency room. He got a bad vibe from her but with everything that was going on he had more pressing matters on his mind. He was craving a shot of jack, hell he was craving the bottle; but he couldn’t do that right now.
Faking a smile, the bleach blonde woman walks up to the receptions desk and says, “Excuse me, I’m looking for my sister.” The older woman behind the desk smiles as she says, “Okay, what’s her name?”
“Campbell? (Name) Campbell, or it could be Winchester; she has two of them.”
“Okay,” The woman replies as she types the name into the computer. “It seems she was just admitted to the ICU. You can go see her if you like; but only one visitor at a time. you should be able to find Dr. Ramsey there and ask how her condition is.”
“Thank you so much, I was so worried about her!” The bleach blonde says as she fakes a look of relief before she heads toward the ICU. When she is far enough away she chuckles to herself as she heads to the ICU. Passing doctors and nurses alike she makes it to the ICU with ease. Reaching (Names) room she looks at the young woman lying unconscious with an IV in her arm. Gritting her teeth, she looks around before she reaches up and grabs (Names) file.
As she flips through them she chuckles as she says, “Figures they only put down malnutrition and vitamin deficiency; but I know the real reason you’re like this.” The woman tosses the file onto a nearby table before she walks to the window and closes the blinds. Closing the door, she pulls out her cellphone and pressing the speed-dial button waits for him to answer. “Have you got her?” He asks as he answers the phone.
“Affirmative, waiting for extraction...”
“Well done Gretel.” He replies and she smirks.
“What should we do about the Winchesters?” She asks as she walks over to peek between the blinds.
“Don’t worry about them, I’m taking care of that now.” He replies and she smirks. “Any sight of the other Asset?” He asks and her smiles instantly turns angry.
“No, the brothers came alone.”
“That’s unfortunate. Oh well, I’m sure the one will be enough.” He replies and she bites her lip to keep from losing her temper. There was nothing she wanted more than to make (Name) suffer for all she had done. If (Name) hadn’t have been around she would have been selected to take the special training and she would have gotten the soldier; not (Name). (Name) Ruined everything. If she had it her way, she would kill (Name) right here right now; but he wanted an asset.
Before she could act on her anger the door opens and in walks the extraction team. “Heading out now.” She announces before hanging up her phone. “Took you long enough,” she says to the Hydra agents as they sneakily start to move (Name) to a gurney.
“Uh ma’am? You might wanna take a look at his.” One of the agents says as he holds up (Names) arm. As she notices the Mark her eyes widen in anger.
“Hurry up and get her out of here before those idiots show up.” She orders making them jump into action and hurry her out of the room. It was shockingly easy to sneak her out of the hospital and into the bus outside. As the doors open a familiar face finds Gretel’s and she grits her teeth. “What are you doing here?”
“Making sure you do your job right.” He replies and she narrows her eyes.
“I know the mission Rumlow. You gave it to me.”
“Well the boss is getting antsy. He wants her now, says he has something special planned for her.”
“Does it have to do with the Mark of Cain on her arm? I thought the older brother had the Mark.”
“Need to know Mullins, and you… Don’t need to know.” He says closing the doors in her face.
Gretel stands there in shock for a moment before gritting her teeth and stomping to the passenger side door right as a familiar flash of red hair flashes in the corner of her eye. She looks up to see none other than the famous Natasha herself. Her blood boils as she looks from the red head to the brunette who looked no older than a teenager following close to her heels. Then a face she didn’t think to see shows up next to Captain America himself and her heart stops. “Soldier…” She says barely above a whisper.
She forces herself to look away and climb into the car but it’s too late. “Gretel!” She hears his voice yell after her and she hits the side of the bus twice signaling to leave. She glances back to see his angry face looking at her but she just clenches her jaw and looks away. They’d see each other sooner than later.
My eyes open and I half expect to be in the hospital but when I look around I feel an intense wave of fear come over me. I knew this room. I remembered the sounds of screams that emanated from within this room. I gulp down a breath of air as I try to focus my eyes on the people around me. “Nice to see you again Agent Campbell.” I hear a familiar voice say and I frantically search for the source.
“Wa-Ward?” I say confusion filling my voice.
“Well not exactly,” He says as he comes into view. There was something different about him but I couldn’t place it. “Grant Ward is dead, although I’m using his body and I have all of his memories, I guess you could say he’s alive,” he points to his head as a smirk covers his lips. “Here.”
“So, you’re in charge now?” I ask as I move my arms only to find that I am strapped to the chair.
“I am,” He replies as he walks forward to gently touch my cheek making me glare at him. “You know you are very pretty. Grant Ward did like you. He looked up to you. So I won’t kill you.”
“Why not?” I ask pulling on binds.
“You,” He says as his hand moves down to my right arm, “Have something special sleeping inside you. I’d like to let her out.”
“No, you can’t!” I yell out as I once again try to break free.
“Shhh-” He says placing a finger over my lips. “I’m going to help you (Name), I going to make you who you should have been from the start. Beautiful.”
“Being a Demon is not beautiful.” I growl out and he smirks.
“That’s what the angels want you to believe.” He looks off to his right and a familiar form comes into view making me see red.
“YOU!” I yell out angrily as she comes into view.
“Nice to see you again Campbell, It’s been too long.” Gretel says a smirk crawling onto her face. I feel the Mark start to burn making me thrash around in my chair as I try to get to her. “I see you remember me.”
“I’ll kill you, you bitch!” I scream out at her as the thrashing starts to make the straps cut into my wrists.
“Let’s see how you feel after a little memory wipe aye?” She replies causing me to freeze.
“No… no you can’t!” I plead as tears start to fill my eyes.
“It’s better this way Campbell.” Ward says and I stare wide eyed at my lap. I was going to lose all my memories. What were they going to make me do? “Start the machine. Wipe her first, then start the trials.”
“Please, I beg of you, don’t do this to me.” I cry but no one is listening to me. Tears fill my eyes as I silently pray to Cas. ‘Cas please, please tell Dean that I’m sorry. I don’t know what they’re about to make me become but it’s best if he doesn’t find me. If one day he does, I want him to kill me. Please tell them all I love them.’ My prayers are cut off by the sound of the machine warming up. Before I have a chance to say anything else the room fills with my screams as every memory is ripped from my mind leaving me blank. Empty.
