HII, YEESSS!!!!! of course:]] i’ve ranted to myself many a’times about this so i’m happy to be asked
these have been talked about plenty & this might b a bit all over the place but :p + would like to preface, you don’t have2 agree with me here, this is just something i like to think about !
BIGGEST THING!!!! him having demon blood. god i cannot stress how much i relate to him with this; he was different from the youngest age and hated for it. he always, always felt that something was wrong with him, he felt no control over who he was from the start. + he always believed in god, angels, heaven and hell, he never questioned the faith he had. when that was confirmed for him, and he was face to face with an angel, he was ecstatic. the first words said angel (no hate to cas he is my love) spoke to him were “sam winchester. the boy with the demon blood.” it hurts bad honestly LMAO, it’s the first and only thing that was notable about sam. not his faith, not his strength, but what made him be seen as different. that is exactly what it feels like being trans😭
mentioned it there but he never felt control over his body. he wanted it so desperately, and even had to leave dean for a bit because of that. the ennnntire ruby demon blood storyline revolved around this—it 1000% is an allegory for drug addiction, which i’ve found is not uncommon when trying to deal with things like dysphoria, but i think it can still be represented as a trans struggle. sam, someone who wants to feel control for once, has to end up isolated because of it. he told dean that he left with ruby because of he didn’t feel like his own life was in his hands, he had to leave the only person he had just to try to feel it. you could also say it’s somethin with hrt but that literally just demonizes it LOL
a lot of this also ties into his relationship with john. john never once understood sam throughout his developmental years and kicked him out as a late teen because of how he couldn’t control him. this can just be an abusive parent thing (& is), but it can’t NOT be brought up when talking about trans sam. to john; sam was dean’s shadow. he wasn’t ever man enough. ‘nother little add on with that; sam built himself. unlike dean, who wanted to be his dad’s solider (can very much so be an ftm allegory as well, sorry #woke), sam had to figure out who he was on his own ENTIRELY. it’s an underlying storyline that is very very near and dear to me because i heavily see myself in it. he was forcibly different all his life because of never being in a stable home, the psychic stuff, the demon blood, and once he decided to veer away from his family, he could finally live as he wanted and felt he was meant to
