I was looking for some Transformers comics in my local library and it made me realize how precious libraries really are to people who don't have big salaries like me, but want to still read comics. The selection of graphic novels is very limited even for popular titles and it's sad.
Libraries are more than just quiet places to read, study or draw. They make books available to people who can't afford them and for stuff Transformers graphic novel especially which can cost as much as a McDonald's meal with a drink and fries, that's a big deal.
So please, support your local library if not for yourself or the library, for people on budgets. And it is the same with games and movies. Donate to the library either with books or with money.
Went to the local library earlier!! Got some great books! Here’s a list of what i picked up:
“A Series Of Unfortunate Events” by Lemony Snicket
“Goosebumps: Revenge Of The Invisible Boy” by R.L. Stine
“Demigods And Magicians” by Rick Roirdan
“The Adventure Of Captain Underpants” by Dav Pilkey
“The Adventure Of Captain Underpants And The Attack Of The Talking Toilets” by Dav Pilkey
“Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark” by Alvin Schwartz
“More Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark” by Alvin Schwartz
“Monster Street: The Halloweeners” by J. H. Reynolds
“Monster Street: The Boy Who Cried Werewolf” by J. H Reynolds
“Nightmares!” by Jason Segel
So far i’ve read the Captain Underpants books. I had so much fun reading them, just as i did when i was a kid! 🥰 George and Harold will always be funny!!
I tried to read the Goosebumps book but the plot kinda sucked. It felt weak and flat compared to other Goosebumps ive read.
Even though no one asked. When i read the other books, i’ll update this with my reviews on them🫡
Went to my local library today. They do movies every other week. So what better way to spend my evening then going with a friend, to the library, and watching Back to the Future for free while actively supporting my local community. A grandma and her two grandchildren were there also watching the movie. It was most likely the kids first time watching the movie and it was so cute watching their reactions. But it was so nice to sit in a room of about 12 people and enjoy this movie all together. And surprisingly everyone was fully engaged in the movie not a phone to be seen.
A friendly reminder that if there are shows or books you enjoy but don't want to pay for, if you have access to a library, check if your library has it!
We love piracy but supporting the library is always good.
