Rant 🚨please feel free to ignore I just need to vent. I'm not posting this for pity and I know I should just ignore unwelcome messages but this one got me when I'm in a bad so have at it rude anon, because this is for you and every other rude anon that has sent message to my fandom friends.

Firstly I want to say thank you to all the lovely Nice Anons who are always a pleasure and joy to hear from - you are always welcome in my inbox 😘 and you are the reason I don't shut my inbox.

Secondly, to the rude anon who sent me a message this afternoon, thank you but no thank you. I'm choosing not to share your message but I will discuss some points I think you were trying to make but just not politely.

The Henry Cavill fandom is very quiet, therefore myself and other writers ( I like to think many writers in the fandom will agree - correct me if I'm wrong), like to share our achievements as a writer, whether that's completing a long-standing one-shot that's been sitting in the hellhole that is our WIP folders or share any other type of achievement. Like the one I did, that I think caused the anonymous message. Where we share our writing triumphs.

The anon may well be right, no one is interested in whether I have completed a chapter of a story because no one will read it. That may well be true.

However, anon’s do not need to send messages saying that to a writer.

Hell, I may never finish writing Hold Me let alone post it up. But after 3 years just being close to finishing it is a personal triumph for me and I I want to share that with my fandom friends, because that is what fandom is all about. Then that's what I will do and I encourage everyone else to do the same.

Writing is a hobby, but it can also be hard, so something like completing a drabble after a long time of writer's block or in my case finishing a chapter after starting a story 3 years ago, is something that makes writers happy and we want to share that with our fandom friends.

This is just a polite reminder to encourage writers in the fandoms you follow, discouragement can cause writer's block and therefore cause a lack of content in the fandom you are a part of.

I know I should have ignored the message but I wanted to share this incase anyone else had received a similar message and now felt discouraged to continue writing.

As always if you enjoy a story like, comment and reblog it. It's what keeps fandoms going and to all the lovely canons you are always and forever welcome in my inbox

Passionate reminder to The Hollow Fandom, and honestly to any fandom on this website that’s currently struggling to stay alive, that fandom is a community of various creators and non-creators supporting each others’ interest in the same show. It is not a secondary source of consumer content.

“Our fandom is dying!” Have you recently reblogged a post where you shared your thoughts in the text or in the tags? Have you posted anything about the show yourself? Have you actually engaged with the fanbase? A fandom isn’t dead when there’s only a couple people in it, a fandom is dead when no one is talking to each other or supporting each other.

“I don’t need/want to reblog!” Tumblr does not have that kind of algorithm. If you don’t reblog a post, it doesn’t get spread out there. Yes, you need to reblog if you want a thriving fandom. Don’t call yourself a part of a fandom if you’re not even willing to reblog content that the members of that fandom create.

Stop expecting “top dog fandom creators” to constantly feed you the content you want without any sort of encouragement from you. They are not showrunners making a huge profit off their work. They are not gods. A lot of them have lives of their own and/or are struggling with their own issues, and usually they’re very approachable. If you like what a fandom creator is doing, pay them back with reblogs and engagement. Posting in a fandom where its members refuse to interact with its community in a meaningful way isn’t fun, so everyone needs to step up here and start supporting each other.

Talk to your fellow fandom friends. Ask them about their interests regarding the show you all like and what headcanons and AUs you all have of them. Create content for each other. Can we please bring back old fandom culture, folks? Does anyone here remember the old days of fandom where we were passionate and we made connections with each other? What happened to that?

Remember: the word “fandom” is a combination of “fan” and “kingdom”. This is a fan kingdom, not a fan restaurant.

Fandom isn’t just about content. It’s about connection. You are allowed to reblog a post and compliment someone and start a conversation with them. That is actually what you SHOULD be doing!

I am so happy and so proud of you all for being strong during the chaos of 2020. I just wanted to remind everyone that we are many and we are supportive. This blog encourages positive fandom interaction, and hopefully, you can feel the good vibes. It was my goal and always will be my goal to make my followers feel welcome and appreciated.

Shippers, Neutrals, and Chill Nonshippers are always welcome to join our crew.

For 2021, I have set up a blog resolution to continue to search out unique crafts, fics, and artwork to boost up our fantastic creators. I want to encourage my followers to step up and show their love to the fandom by continuing to let their creative juices flow.

If you don't create but want to show support and don't know how, here are a few ways to do your part for the fandom/ship:

Visit all Instagram links. Like, comment or follow

Comment and Thumbs up on all Youtube links

And Finally, send new fans, shippers, and neutrals over to this blog so we can keep growing 💕

Fandom Boost

So there’s a grassroots effort springing up around boosting other content creators in your fandom(s) of choice and I want to get in on the action because it’s so, so important to the life of the fandom.

So Potter-heads, I’d like to rec @blvnk-art for some really FANTASTIC Harry Potter fanart both canon and headcanon wise. (There’s also a NSFW sideblog if you’re into that sort of thing.) I’m particularly attached to their Ginny headcanon, which is absolutely lovely.

Star Wars people! I’m not big in the fanfiction scene over there but I dabble in some Stormpilot when the mood strikes, and in that vein, @goddammitstacey has a great series response to some Tumblr prompts here: http://archiveofourown.org/series/532552 (these are NSFW!!) hot hot hot and the characterization is (IMO) very good!

Finally GW people (cause that’s generally where I hang my hat) - I’m kind of obsessed with The Last Romanov by The Manwell. (http://archiveofourown.org/works/6314458) I mean, first of all, 2x3 is, in my heart of hearts, my OTP, so this is quintessential 2x3 IMO. Plus it’s absolutely filthy hot smut, and that’s never a no from me. But it’s got a lot of excellent character development you don’t usually see in one shot NSFW fics. Duo is vulnerable, Trowa is emotionally transparent, and they both still maintain that edge of badassery that’s essential to Gundam Pilot character in general. (Dark edgy Duo is ALWAYS my jam, but drunk!Trowa is quite adorable here).
